My dad used to drive interstate with a new truck all white . It felt like the sun was right in front of us. This is why I like my car black inside red outside. I was only a kid but always remember those trip. Good luck.

I actually wanted a white Prius. The dealer didn't have one without the white interior though and the wife vetoed it anyways. I never had a white car before but my grandfather did. I remember it being blinding also, but the paint did always feel cooler to the touch than darker cars next to it. Not sure how much that translates to cabin temperature but I was willing to take a chance on it. With the angle of the hood on the Prius I don't think I would have had that glare issue like I remember my grandfather's car having. I do like how Jeep is putting those matte decals on their long flat hood. I think it looks good and I think it would help reduce glare as well.

If your are with the 30 Days period you can still returned the Prius and get a different color at the dealership. I did it back in 2012 cause the smell inside the car was really bad. They found no solution to it. They can worked with you. You need to be happy

If my wrangler was white I know for sure I could not drive this around. I like white but I can't buy one. We drove from Miami to New York . Hard not to remember.

Of the 18 cars I've owned, 8 have been white - still my preference.

I understand that paints may be formulated a bit differently now, but when I was choosing between 3 almost identical cars in the early '90s, it was a hot day near midday, and I felt the paint on the 2 white cars, and compared with the non-metallic red, and the white was substantially cooler. The salesman agreed, but got me to feel the next car (which I wasn't considering) which was pale silver (metallic) - and it was hotter still.

Each car had driver's windows open, so I sat in each, and, to the best of my sensing, the 2 white cars were noticeably cooler than the other 2.

So, another white car came into my corral. My Prius is white - because she was the only colour available for several months.

She's having her windows tinted today.

I would like to get that color scheme but it isn't available in the trim level I want. It's all down to what's left in inventory now. So, they'll line me up one with beige. I'm not thrilled about it but I'm not terribly picky... other than I don't want black on the inside or on the outside.

If that's the color you want, you should broaden your search. North Cal and So Cal are 2 different markets. Each have their own set of colors and option combination that's not available from another. I had to go to Nor Cal market to buy my Tacoma that was not available in So Cal.

I'm not sure how the "cooling off period" is like in Florida but there is none at all in PA. You buy it it's yours...

Sure a dealership would be glad to take it back in and make a very nice profit reselling a 1 month old car and reselling you a new one but you will likely lose some money in the long run...

Is FL really a 30 day cooling off state? That's crazy, the dealers would have to take a huge hit and resell the car as used...

And in reference to the white interior. I initially hated it, then oddly enough I fell in love and was stuck on getting the moonstone softex as in my mind it added a touch of class to the car....obviously along with that comes a more stringent cleaning routine to keep it looking nice! But alas I could not find the trim combo I wanted and I kinda sorta fell into my new silver Three with ATP and black interior and I couldn't be happier. I will use a microfiber cloth once a week to suck up the little bits of dust and call it a day.

Reading this thread I'm kinda happy I didn't get moonstone as that would drive me nuts having glare in my eyes..

My entire car is blinding! Joggers & bikers were complaining... I had to move it to the shade.

I love the black and white dash combo - less depressing and more character added to the interior. Reflects the heat back as well. I admire how Toyota went creative in designing the interior. I'm not bothered by any glare it may be throwing off, so that helps as well.

I found a similar problem with my 2009 Gen II (Magnetic Gray), and found a good solution at Ye Olde Prius Shoppe http://shop.priuschat.com/navigation-screen-sun-visor-hood-for-2004-2009-toyota-prius/

If the white dash is causing an issue the best solution is to by a dash mat, I have one in all my cars, as they protect the dash from the sun from cracking, and in your case will cover up the white. I prefer the brand DASHMAT as they don't have any cut outs for the airbag, its just a solid mat, and looks better. The airbag will still work as designed.

Very strange, not blinded at all, perfectly fine. Could it be my old eyes? Maybe there's an advantage in aging.

I have the moonstone interior, and here in Sunny Denver it's not bad. I notice a slight glare in the side windows, none in the windshield.
What bugs me is the glint off the chamfered edges on the chrome Toyota emblem on the steering wheel. When I get around to it I'm going to paint them black.

I bought two because of the moon glow interior. However put your shades on man.

My local dealer did find one in the Southern California market. I just had to give up 200 miles on my odometer to get it. I'm glad I did. I'm glad I waited until their end of year clearance event. I got a hefty discount. I'm a happy camper now.
