So after going back and forth with ALL the dealers in my area, I settled for a Blue Crush Metallic Three Touring with the black interior and found one for $23,541. Picked it up Friday night and have been loving it ever since. Coming from a Gen 2, there are worlds of difference. A few things:

    The good:
-It is SO easy to get 55+ MPG (according to the trip computer) in normal city driving (we've had 90+ degree temps too)
-Coming from the Gen 2, handling wise it feels like a Tesla. They did a great job with that.
-All my Uber/Lyft passengers are so shocked it's a Prius, they love it.
-The drive modes yield real differences. PWR mode is fun if you feel like zipping around town quickly.
-The driving position is SO much better than Gen 2. It finally feels like you're not sitting on top of the car.
-The driver assistance features for the most part are pretty awesome. The auto high beams are super useful.

    The not so good:
-Huge lack of storage space coming from Gen 2
-Some of the nav features feel outdated. The Entune app is not updated for the iPhone 6 screen.
-Although I know it says in the manual, the DRCC is pretty useless in heavy traffic. Even on the closest setting it keeps too much space in between cars, and over-brakes, causing confusion for the cars behind.
-No "welcome" headlights (headlights on when doors are unlocked)

Not really a whole lot to complain about. The car is super impressive, it's such a wonder to me why they don't sell more in the US. A few questions:

-I've got a rattle coming from the driver's side door that's pretty noticeable. Any info on this before I take it in to the dealer?
-Also looking for recommendations on Dash Cams that fit well on the dash and iPhone mounts in or around the vents?
    - Any way to get the main nav screen to be off by default?
-Any way to have a closer following distance be default for the DRCC?

Road Warrior, would you be willing to share where you got that price and the sales person with whom you dealt? Like you, I am in Portland, and, like you, I would be very happy to pay that price for a 2016 Prius 3 Touring. If I can get a similarly discounted price on a 2016 Highlander, I will buy both at the same time. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Of course, it was Wilsonville Toyota. I think there were a few more in stock. The salesperson was Alex Korver and I also dealt with Paul Heinrich, the Customer Service manager. It was a great overall buying experience. Tell them Owen sent you. Keep in mind I did get a $750 discount for being an Uber driver.

$23,541? You're joking. Man, they sure have come down in price since February. I have the non-touring Three, and the best price I found was $25,109 plus tax/license.

There's been several rattles reported in these forums. All minor fixes.

I get slightly better gas mileage using the PWR mode 100% of the time. And you don't have to zip around. I'm getting a steady 61 mpg in city driving, with the AC running. (But I don't have passengers.)

I don't understand the "welcome" feature with the headlights. (Would they come on during day time too?)

You're an Uber driver? Any problems with people fitting in the rear seat? Any complaints about room? All your passengers must be under 5'10". :)

Re: the welcome lights, they would just turn on when unlocked, just like they stay on after locked. Probably only at night.

And I haven't had any passengers complain about the lack of room in the back yet. I usually have the passenger seat all the way forward if there are just people in the back seat, so it is quite roomy.

Good luck with the business, and enjoy your Prius.
(I'm a tall man, with the seat all the way back. Even my short sister is not comfortable sitting behind me. She says it's "cramped.")

Has anyone ever seen 3 average-size adults sitting in the back of a Prius? (Or trying to sit in the back of a Prius?

I don't see how it could be done... not comfortably. And where does all their luggage go???

It can be done! I regularly had very tall and large guys in my Gen 2, usually they're drunk and riding around from bar to bar so they're not worried about the legroom. I feel for the Uber drivers who have Prius Cs, Ford Fiestas, etc

We drove 250 miles with 5 in car. Wife, Daughter in Law plus either me, or one of my 2 sons in the back seats. (The guys rotated).
Combined weight in back seat was 450 - 500lb depending on who was there at the time.
Luggage for 5 (airline carry-on size) fitted in the trunk.
I expected it might be tough: it wasn't.
There wasn't a lot of spare space but I'd do it again for 250 miles: Not for 2500 miles

The difference with the Gen4, is that it's smaller in the back?

When you position the front seats so that the front row knee room is the same, the rear seat knee room in the Gen 4 seems to me to be slightly less than in the Gen 3 but not much. I've not compared seat width but I assume that the Gen 4 rear seat is at least as wide
