So you just stated your OTD price on the phone with the Sales agent or Fleet manger and wait for their instant reply in phone ?

How come your tax is $300 only ?

The tax cap on car sales tax is a state thing!

Toyota corporate doesn't have the same relationship with the Southeast Region or Gulf States dealers. These areas set their own prices, rebates, and equipment levels. You can buy outside these regions and get a much better deal on a new Prius (or any Toyota model).

It would be interesting to know what the MSRP (or dealer sticker) price was to see if any accessories were included.

I visited 2 dealerships today for Prius four with ATP and convenience package. MSRP on the car is $33,628 and invoice price was $31,323. Finance guy was ready for following

    $30,500 -2000 rebate =28,500

So it would be 28,500 + 2850 tax and fees =31350 out of door

    What do you guys think?

I offered 29150 out of door and waiting to hear back

I think that is the fair price keeping in mind that already 2017 are coming and not many buy Prius with both packages

so you offered 26, 300. on an msrp of 33,628, or $7,328 off of msrp. how does this compare with others?

May not compare with others but that is what I can offer. There are 6-8 cars in the region with the configuration I am looking for with ATP and CONVENIENCE package and the color I want

Hi there...looking to get my first Prius. My wife and I would like to get a Prius Two (base model). We live in Southern California, Ventura County, and we wouldn't mind driving to LA or the valley for a great deal.

For starters, I checked Edmunds and used their price promise certificate. It gave me a couple of dealerships (Simi Valley and Northridge)
    MSRP $25,315
Selling Price $24,346 (Simi Valley) and $24,895 (Northridge)

After reading the posts here, I'm hoping I could do better. Does anyone have any suggestions which dealership to work with in So. Cal?

    thanks!!!
    jason

Neither quote is especially good from what we've been hearing from other recent buyers. See earlier in this thread (post 85) where the best price for a Two base is just under $19k. Hopefully you can become the next buyer to get on the lowest list.

At those prices make sure the rebate goes to you; that's $2500 in your pocket or if you assign it to the dealer he takes another $2500 off the price. (Verify that CA still offers $2500 rebate; in my area it is still at $2k.)

    Hi Jason,

In so Cal you can get it for 22k OTD base model two. Send several emails back and forth and even when they say best price, they will be willing to come down. This is with the 2k instant cash back if you don't plan on financing.

Thanks Will. I've made a couple of inquiries. so far and will see what email or feedback I get.

About the $2K instant cash, so is that only given if I buy the Prius in cash only? If I finance, does that mean I don't get the $2k? Sorry, total newbie here. :)

My experience was cash or finance, didn't make any difference. The rebate came off top. Now if they are offering 0% financing then you may not get the rebate if you agree to 0% financing. If you choose to have your own financing or dealer financing then you will get the rebate. This is the way it was when we bought ours 2 weeks ago here on the East side of the US
