I did not buy extended warranty either. Did you receive info suggesting needed? They tried to sell me one on nav console unit and I said I had my first one for 10 yrs wo/problem,had they started making them more cheaply. I think it made him mad, because after that all extended warranty talk stopped.

That's a good one to scare people with, though. Those damn things are failure prone, and replacement rivals transaxle, or hybrid battery, or brake master cylinder, or...

I miss the simple days, with dials and sliders. Most of the time you could adjust things without taking your eyes off the road. Then came buttons, and it was all downhill from there.

the downfall started during the jetson revolution. it was a movement, not a lifestyle.

    Nice reading.

If you missed it - I also did a review... focusing on how to muck about in one :)

    Hope you like the "treatment"

The very worse thing about extended warranties is the lifetime of calls pointing out that the warranty has expired, and you can extend it again for another outlay of big $$.

Exactly why I turned it down when buying it at the dealership. I read somewhere that on the average car (not necessarily a Toyota) that only half of car owners ever "need" the extended warranty, and even fewer of those require a repair that justifies the cost. When considering that and the fact that Prius is well known as an incredibly low maintenance high reliability vehicle it was a definite nope on the warranty.

For my Range Rover, I have an extended warranty that I have never used but it's necessary (it's English). For my Prius, I wouldn't even consider it.

I have a Gen 1 Prius I still drive locally, it's a 2003. But it has 263,000 miles on it and I don't know how much further it is going to go. We have had nothing but Prius' since 2001, then the 2003, 2006 and 2015. We traded in the 2001 when we bought the 2006. When it died, hybrid system crashed at 271,000 mi. in October 2015, which is when we got the 2015 Prius Two. We decided to keep the 2003 for local driving and use the 2017 Prius Four I just bought, when I travel home to see family once or twice a month, about 150 mi. round trip. The Gen 4 has received raves so far, from the peeps that have seen it thus far. I love the rear lights, sort of resembles a lightening bolt to me. The ride is smooth and quiet and the automatic transmission shifts are barely perceptible. The interior is a dream. I could have gotten a Three and had the Softex seats put on for $1500, but I didn't see the point of that. I have the ATP and love it. I got that for the Color HUD and WiFi Phone Charger. The Sun/Moon Roof is part of that package, but I really don't care a whole lot about that. It is nice and operates very well. So far everything operates as promised. The Auto Windshield Wipers and Auto Hi-beams work seamlessly. The TSS is a hoot. On my way home last week, someone passed me up on a 2 lane highway, then cut back right in front of me even though there was no one coming in the other lane, the cruise was on. Then they made a left turn! My car was on it and slowed down immediately then sped back up to the speed the cruise was set at after they had finished their turn. I just started laughing, I thought, Wow, You've got to be prime entertainment for God, because I'm pretty sure I can hear the laughing from here! I find it stunningly beautiful inside and out. The color is Sea Glass Pearl/Ash. I asked for anything not Black/White/Grey/Silver. It is very responsive and handles great. So far no rattling or any other disturbing noises. We love Prius' and that Toyota stands behind their product.

    Welcome!
You might want to change the location in your profile to just city & state. You do not want your whole address available for anyone.
You must run in PWR mode for the DRCC cruise to react that fast getting back up to speed. It is slower in Normal & Eco drive modes.
    Enjoy all your Prius family.

Maybe in the Priuschat Help section some guidance on stuff like this would be helpful. Like not displaying your exact adress, or email, or Vehicle Identification Number, for example. And blurring your license plate when posting pics of your car.

On the flip side, maybe some tips on what would be helpful when explaining your location? There's members from all 'round the world, and not all of them conversant with United States of America two-letter state acronyms, for example. And then there's: "cyberspace", lol.

Country (and planet?) should be a minimum requirement for location. Rome could be in Italy, New York, or someplace else for instance.
Either that or we confine non-US (including cyberspace) posters to the International forum that appears to be dead. If we did that we would lose a wealth of wisdom.

With all due respect, we are just talking about cars. Is where we live that important? :) I believe in remaining as private as possible while on the Internet. But that's just me. Priuschat is a great and informative website. Many thanks to the owner(s).

    ...somewhere in America. :)

Any woman named "BEVZILLA" is ok in my book! You are welcome in cyberspace young lady! :)
My 2016 Prius has been the best car I've owned so far. I agree with you on every point.

(The wonderful thing about space, is there are NO fences! :) But we do have to watch out for the occasional meteor.)
