Just got my 2016 Toyota Prius four Touring 4 weeks ago, and I already have a scratch in the most unlikeliest place, on the glossy black plastic that surround the drivers side windows switches. I am not sure if that has always been there, but it is a hairline scratch. Is there anyway to get rid of it without making the gloss look cloudy? Anyone else have this happen to them either around the doors or navigation area? If so, how did you fix it or did you leave it alone. I included a picture to see. It is a hairline scratch, but now that I know it is there, it is bothering me.

Thank goodness, glossy plastic is easy! Duplicating texture, now that's hard.

If it's just a small scratch in gloss plastic, pick up small bottles of Novus #1, #2, and #3 plastic polish, and try the #2 first. If the scratch is too heavy, #3, then #2.

For applicators, I generally use my fingertips, and wipe off with the heel of my hand (and wipe that off on a cloth, or jeans). Honestly, I've had better results that way than with fancier materials I've tried.

    Hello.
I used XERAPOL polish on the glossy plastic and worked fine.
Also it worked on the instrument cluster plastic that was scratched and plastic headlights and tailgate lights.

    Regards.

If you continue to get scratches you can consider the dash trim kits from somewhere like autoanything dot com (B & I trim comes to mind). It's just a matter of time before my dog climbs on those switches but I'll do like the recommendations above and try to polish them out first.
