In the past when we had a 1999 four cylinder Saturn we were able to pull the smallest lightweight Rockwood pop-up camper which weighed 1000 pounds. We sold the pop-up in 2010 and got a 2012 Prius v station wagon. We are now thinking as empty nesters to getting back into lightweight camping. We would not be bringing the world with us as we would go to a campground that had showers. It's basically so we can travel for some weekends down the shore and for a week here and there. We wouldn't be going up any mountains.

2013 V pulling a Solace camper. The empty weight of the camper is 350 lbs. Full weight is 500 lbs +/-. The V doesn't even know it is back there when dragging it around.

This Foam/Canvas camper weighed in at just under 900 pounds, it was a handful due to wind resistance and being 80" wide was hard to see around and needed nonexistent mirror extensions. Wifey and I spent a week in it before selling to a friend.
