I will be getting my C's 5,000 mile maintenance next week. Since I drive for Uber, I am going to get an oil and filter change too. But, does anyone have a link to exactly what they do (minus my optional oil change) at 5,000? Or can you just list it? Thanks!

You didn't get the booklets? You can download pdf's at Toyota TechInfo, in the Manuals Tab.

Really all they will do is rotate the tires and change your oil/filter.

If your lucky they will rotate your tires  When you go ask for bottle oil.

Isn't barrel oil the same Toyota synthetic? They have to use synthetic for Prius, right?

The question should be what brand is the bulk (barrel) oil? If the barrel does not say Toyota 0W-20, or Mobil 1 synthetic, or some other Synthetic brand 0W-20, then who knows.

Toyota brand 0W-20 is synthetic. The manual does not state synthetic, but when you look at genuine Toyota 0W-20 (Amazon, various Toyota parts department websites), SYNTHETIC is clearly marked on the bottles. The Prius C owner's manual says to Toyota 0W-20 (inferred synthetic 0W-20). If 0W-20 is not available, 5W-20 is acceptable, but the next oil change USE 0W-20.

Reference pages 493-494 of the Prius C owner's manual.

You have no idea what the owner of the dealer is selling when you get bulk oil, and or the quality of the oil in the bulk drums. I would either ask for Toyota Bottled oil or bring your own oil.

I've switched to their bulk. They say it's the same, I'm taking them at their word. It looks the same, behaves the same. I'm ok with it, saves a bit more (very cheap even in the bottles) and avoids adding oil-fouled bottles to the recycle stream.
