    Hi All,

I have a 2012 Prius and recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7. I am able to pair the phone over Bluetooth with no problem, and even use the dial by voice features. If I use the Google Maps app, I am unable to get the turn directions to play through the car speakers. I have tried:
    1. Enabling 'Media Audio' in the bluetooth settings
    2. Enabling 'Call Audio' in bluetooth settings
    3. Enabling 'Play voice over Bluetooth' in the Maps app
None of these get the audio to go through the car speakers. Modifying the bluetooth settings actually restricts all audio, including from the phone.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a software update like this one (Redirect To headUnits) that I should apply? I probably haven't done a software update since ~2013.

mine works if I connect it just as media player/
it's kind of a not so smart solution, because I listen to music from a usb stick & actually would prefer to be able to handle phonecalls handsfree/

Not sure if this will help, but when I first got my 2010, I couldn't get most of the media on my Galaxy S6 Edge to play through the Prius bluetooth A2DP (media player profile). I fixed it by downloading the "Bluetooth Connect and Play" app from the Play store and setting it to Stop all other apps from automatically starting when it connects to the Prius.

Somehow, having this app intervene on startup allows me to select whatever app I want, including Maps. I can also use the hands-free on my phone now, no problem.

Yep, I sure can. I can stream Pandora from my phone, have the stock nav unit chime in with my next turn, and take a call all seemlessly.

Maybe it's just coincidence, as the app is actually barely involved. As soon as my phone connects to my car, the app fires up and disables automatic playing of my media. From there, everything just... Works. But it didn't before the app was intervening, so there might be some causation. Let me know if it works for you!
