Hello newbie here, I was wondering if any of you have had this issue my (commuter) car has 109,000 and I do all the maintenance.
    So I got home from work and an hour later I went to start the car and got a warning light with the message OIL PRESSURE LOW and would not start (No Ready Light).I did some searching on here but could not find a fix or something related to my problem to troubleshoot but so far I've done the following;
Oil level checked - Good (Use 0-20 synthetic)
    Battery check - 12.8 Volts (multi-meter)
Disconnected battery (negative cable) to reset ECU.
    Checked all fuses.
Tried to pull codes with OBD II reader but would not connect to ECU.
Took off the OIL Pressure Sending Unit (Sensor) and tested good.

I'm not sure what else to check before I decide to take it in to the dealership for a diagnostics.
Is there a procedure on resetting the ECU or pulling codes on these units?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advanced.

    12.8 seems a little low.
I'd take a second look at the battery, then try to figure out why the ODBII won't talk to the ECU.

    Good Luck![/QUOTE]
I just tried jumping it running 13.5 volts with no changes

Verify ecm has 12v going to it, is there obvious ecm fuse?

There are several ecm fuses which are all good but the code just will not go away after resetting by removing the positive cable.

I don't think there's anything to be gained by disconnecting the battery. It's "shooting the messenger". And if and when you bring it to a dealership could confuse them.

12.8 volts for an at rest battery seems champion, btw.

I agree with you Mendel. I'll take it in and have it diagnosed cause I've tried just about everything and the fact that I can't link to the ecm with my obd worries me.

And there's me: I struggle just comprehending what that means, lol. I get there, no worries.

We used to have a record chain up here, called A&B sound. One time, driving with my wife, she says: "should we stop at A&B and get some CD's?". Cracked me up.

Not sure, are these (am1 & obd) fuses in the same fuse box located under the dash.

I just looked at the fuse box under the dash and yes am1 and obd fuses are good, I had previously checked those.

    Thanks.

Since this is your commuter car I would bring it to the dealership at this point.
Procuring the techstream diagnostic software/ hardware off eBay or Amazon would set you back a few days and may not help you solve your dilemma.
It could be a worthwhile purchase for diagnosing your Prius down the road
Please let us know what the dealership finds.

Well, I got the car back from the dealership (no charge) and as it turns out I had a blown fuse. I know I must of checked that fuse at least twice so I'm just confused at this point. Anyways the fuse they claim was blown out is # 12 in the engine compartment so I thought I post a pic so if anyone else ever has this problem they know where to look first.
Thank you all for the help.

I was not aware of this till just now: if you've got a multimeter, preferably one with an audible feedback continuity mode (or just set to a resistance (ohms) mode), there's 2 bare metal bits on each fuse: just touch the multi meter probes to those two bits, and it'll beep if the fuse is not blown, not open, good.

A lot easier than pulling them and looking. Probably I'm the only one on the planet who didn't know this, but hey.

That's exactly what I used and got a beep on all fuses including the IG2 in addition to that a visual inspection was also performed just to make sure and it just does not make sense to me well at least I didn't have to pay the diagnostics charge.

    No problem.

What is the fuse number? After your experience I would like to keep a few replacement fuses in the glove box.
