    Hello

I am saving up money for sext summer I will be buying a used Prius lower case v, in the mean time if I come across a good deal, I will jump on it.

I came across a 2014 left over light green in color (not the most popular but if I can get it for a good price, color doesn't matter). I called the dealership, they told me they have been using it as a demo and it has been registered as such. The day before I called the, it was in a little bumper to bumper accident in a parking lot, they tell me it was very little and it is in the shop now to get fixed.

Question, should I still pursue this? when I hear this I hear lower cost in my head. I estimate vehicle will have about 10-15K miles on it and will be priced accordingly. Also, they told me it was resisted with Toyota a few years back so yes there is still warranty left, but very little.

Would you be afraid of the damage even if it was little? Should I run to take advantage of this?

    Thanks

I'd be more afraid that they "registered" it and used it as a loaner/beater vehicle for 3 years and now they've taken such excellent care of it that they won't even put it in a factory CPO program (or....they might not do Certified Pre-Owned in Canada.)

I would expect a discount for the accident, the commercial use, and for the fact that it's green. ;)

I'd also get an inspection done by an independent shop and expect detailed maintenance records.

    Good Luck!

How long are you going to be keeping the car? I ask because you are thinking of buying a green car (worst resale value color) and one with an accident history that anyone can look up. If you keep it 12 years or 300k miles, both matter little as long as the repairs are done right and there was no frame damage (which can skew alignments) (but ask for before repaired pictures). Sheet metal deformation and repair can lead to rust years later. I bought a Chevy demo and only 10 years later discovered it had been in a rear end collision as I examined the rust that resulted.

Thanks everyone, your right, the light green is not selling around here that is for sure. I appreciate your help, yes the plan would be to keep it for at least 10 years as a min. If it has no problems, then I will want to keep it until it dies. I the price is GREAT, then I will consider it, but it will have to be crazy now, like in the 13-14K range as a max and that is after inspection and all reports..

Looks like I will be waiting until next summer, maybe a higher power is telling me to wait. Wish list, I would rather have a 2015 for many reasons, but #1 is better crash tests....

    Thanks
