Like to know who loves to wash their own cars, and who takes it to a car wash or a has a mobile wash come to them? For me personally I enjoy washing my own car, it's my alone time from our busy world we live in. Please let me know what you prefer and post pics of your car being washed!! :)

First thing I do when I buy any car is wash it twice, clay it, and then wax it. Makes a world of difference since many people don't routinely wash their cars

Just wash it myself. Summer before last we had car wash restrictions, I was hurting. One day there was a good rain, I took advantage, washed the car with rain water. Here it is in the rinse phase, our quality control guy doing inspection:

I wash my cars myself 9 plus months out of the year but I take my Prius through a very good local wash (Delta Sonic) in the winter months lest I turn my driveway into an ice skating rink.

Don't know how happy I'd be with a detailer, but hand washing is the only way to make sure you get into every nook and cranny where the dirt hides. Maybe one of those drive-through numbers if I just want to wash accumulation off.

He goes nuts every time a Prius cab rolls through the cul de sac. Not barking, just REALLY interested. Camry Hybrids too: he'll be up on his hind legs straining against the leash. HSD vibration??

I do agree silver is much easier to maintain... White looks really nice but I don't think I will buy another white car hahaha...

Free car wash at the dealer every 5K Miles service interval for me, considering how much I drive, roughly every 2-3 Months. I tried hand waxing my car once...man, must've taken me 2 hours  Mulling paying for the service next time before the rainy season starts rolling in...

Yeah it's definitely an afternoon's chore. Maybe break it up: wash and dry it in the morning, let it sit to dry more thoroughly through the day, apply the wax in the evening, buff it off the next day. Having "assistants" helps. :)

Last week went to my favorite $10. car wash. They do an excellent job vacuuming, drying and cleaning the windows. Then drove home spray waxed using Meguiar's "Ultimate Quik Wax" which I had purchased from Walmart. Took maybe 30 minutes to wax. Probably wash once a month. Silver seems to be a great color hiding dirt!
