I use them because I like to keep my windows cracked when my car is parked in the heat. People can't see that they are cracked and I feel safer. Plus the car stays cool without debris getting in. That and if I did rain with the windows cracked no water would get in.

They limit the amount of wind entering the cabin. And they act as a bar of tint against the glaring sun.

WellVisors are the best for a great price. I have them on two of my cars and they are easy to install and look great. The one thing I don't do when in stalling them is use the metal clips. I just place the plastic buttons into the holes without the metal clips. The tape alone works for me. I don't use the metal clips as I am afraid that over time the metal on metal door frame may wear through the painted door frame and cause rust. But based on the video it looks like they don't use metal clips on the 16 Prius.

Really nice! I got mine yesterday but don't know when I'll put them on. It's been rainy.

So it's been 2-3 weeks since I installed mine and I just checked them out to see how they are holding up. There is noticable rust color on the door seal where the metal clips rest. The clips aren't touching anything metal on the car since they fit into the rubber around the door but if it's already leaking after this short a time, I imagine it will start to spread down the seal. Anyone check out how theirs is looking?

Just had one fly off on the freeway. I'm a dealer tech and install these all the time. The quality is absolute trash. Mine were even scratched up right out of the box.

That's too bad because I think they look really good. Mine are still on fine but I think I will either try to remove the metal clips or cover them with sealant to keep the rust from spreading.

Mine are fine. Look like the day I installed them.

Did you remove the metal clips before you installed?

wow just jack my post.. LOL ... I prefer the OEM JDM visors because most people won't buy them because of the price.

    LOL

The Japanese ones in the OP look pretty much the same as the wellvisors. I can't tell the difference, visually.

Sounds like the way to tell is if they are rusty or one has flown off, they are not the JDM ones.
