First tank

Congrats Whitestar, I am about to finish my first tank full myself. Currently my mfd has me at 51.2 mpg. I am curious to see that the tank fill up calculation will be.

P.S. I am jealous of your Red ! I did not specify a color and ended up with silver

 

Ok this got to be a fluke.... here we go

miles 379.0
gas 5.019 gal fill up
MPG 75.51

Now some one do a check for me as I suck at math... my jaw dropped at the MPG numbers!!!!!!! :blink:

hummmm and that was a half tank fill up and the MFD had 54.75 MPG ... so what is the deal???

My calculator says your math is OK Monks. That means: 1. you didn't get the tank full with the 5 gal fill up (7 gallons would make it more believable) 2. you were going down hill the whole 379 miles or 3. you have discovered something the rest of us would like very much like to know.

Good first tank Whitestar, I bet the next one is even better.

 

Ok, Here's mine from my first tank fill up today:

Miles: 483 (I got the beep warning and flashing square)
Gallons: 8.518
Calc'd MPG: 56.7
MFD: 50.8

So I'm thinking I must not have filled it full enough even though the pump handle shut itself off. I figure the calculations will even out in time. Regardless... I am getting some kick nice person mileage ! Double what I was getting in my '05 Subaru Legacy that I traded in for my Prius

AS for the tank being full, after the first click , I put in more and got the second click... so the tank was full. I drive about 58 miles 1 way and I use cruice control any where from 45 mph to 61 mph and bringing my prius up and down that speed scale ( break in ) ... so they were the numbers I got.... will post at next fill up
