Hot Tip: Use beeps to get people out of your way! Lol

You can use the Prius' beeps to get people out of your way, or for safety when backing up. It's kind of cool

So, when I back up out of my driveway, I roll the rear windows down like an inch, for the dog walkers and little kids. I figure it may help, some day.

An inch of opening allows transmission of like 80% of the sound that an open windows would allow.

But here's the real kicker! Lol

The other day, I was pulling through a parking lot and a 17 year old was walking diagonally across the lot, in more or less the same direction as I, and was heading to walk directly in front of my moving car. I was moving slowly, so I was probably under electric power only I.E. the car was probably pretty silent.

So I took a moment to stop the car, opened the front window a bit, took off my seatbelt, and turned car off and then back on again.

It was kind of a cool trick. When I put it back in drive, the "seat belt isn't on" alarm started beeping, and as I approached, she turned her head and moved out of the way! It was kind sort of fun to see her expression, too. Like maybe a tiny truck was backing up behind her or something.
