    OK - I have seen that there's a $1500 CA CVRP credit (wait weeks for the check, yatta yatta again) but hell if I can make heads or tails of the Federal tax credit for Prime.
    Plug-In Electric Drive Vehicle Credit (IRC 30D)
    Maybe I am just tired... but is it $2500 or $4500?

    Also hoping they roll out the ability for me to get my HOV decals in advance, so I have them here when you get the car but so far... no such luck. Oh well. At least we're fast with plates since we assign them here.

    Got several dozen coming and cannot yet post deals but suffice it to say, will be discounting. :) Gotta keep my volume up!!

    $2,500 plus, for a vehicle which draws propulsion energy from a battery with at least 5 kilowatt hours of capacity, $417, plus an additional $417 for each kilowatt hour of battery capacity in excess of 5 kilowatt hours.

    $2,500 for 4kWh
    $417 for each additional kWh

    $2,500 + $417 + $417 + $417 + $417 = $4,168 for 8kWh
    0.8kWh*$417 = $333.6

    $4,168 + $333.6 = $4,501.60

    That's the way I read it.

    Woo hoo! We must be getting PRIME in the month of October. We are offering SoCal buyers (thru Dec 5th):
    BUY? Rates as low as 1.9% apr OR a $500 cash rebate .. tier 2 credit, 2.9, and tier 3, 3.9.
    Lease - a decently low money factor rate that's 1/2 the usual buy rate for tier 1+...
    I wish I could calculate but no residuals are announced, and no pricing/freight's been made official. Looks like our LA region's hunkering down to sell a bunch of Prime! I'm gonna be quite busy.....

    Dianne, in your first post, you have 2 different pdfs for the Advanced and the Advanced -AT package. I can't find a difference between the two. Is there such a beast?

    1. Can the cabin preheat be set to come on when the car is not plugged in?

    2. Does PED just tell the driver how to drive or does it also inform the regen and SOC control systems to provide greater economy automatically?

    Remote A/C can do so, I'm not sure what happens to "climate prep" if the charge cable isn't plugged in.

    EDIT: There's a hint in the manual that climate prep on schedule won't operate if the charging cable isn't plugged in, but it's not well-written enough to be sure.

    It doesn't apply them automatically.

    "When registered support points are approached, the optimal timing for releasing the accelerator pedal is notified to the user using the eco acceleration guide of the hybrid system indicator along with emphasizing the display of the icon. (Refer to the separate Prius Prime owner’s manual for details on the eco acceleration guide) After releasing the accelerator pedal, the engine brake (regeneration brake) amount increases. (regeneration boost control) As a result, the battery charge amount can be increased when decelerating or stopping the vehicle contributing to improved power and fuel economy. This function only operates in the contiguous United States."
