Bluetooth rolling to voice mail

I've searched the forums and haven't found anything that addresses this issue:

My wife has a Verizon Motorola phone (I don't know the model at this time). When she receives a call over Bluetooth, by the time it registers on the display, it is through the ringing cycle and rolls to her voice mail. The caller hears the phone ring 4 times. She contacted Verizon and they lengthened her ring time to 30 seconds (from the default of 20). That made no difference.

Has anyone experienced this? She doesn't want to use the auto-answer since there is no way of knowing a call is coming in until she hears someone saying "Hello?".

One thing I just thought to try - if her Smart Key and cell phone are next to each other in her purse, could that have an affect?

    Thanks for any help!

Have not had that problem with my Verizon before, although I guess that if you have the radio too loud, you may not hear it ringing until later in the cycle and by that time the display will go away.

I suggest taking the phone to verizon for another one. That is more likely your problem then the car. I usually have to trade mine in around every 6 months as they just do not hold up very well.

You can also try deleting it from the car, and re-installing it again.

The Smart Key will have nothing to do with it, they work on totally different frequencies.

I have a similar time lag with my Sony Ericsson t616 but it is the other direction, my calling a person, but the delay is only the length of the caller saying Hello. That is by the time the display gives the volume bars signalling a call is connected the person has already said hello and is waiting for me to respond. I've gotten in the habit of saying, "Hi (so and so)" as soon as I see the bars.

Okay - we got the ring time lengthened. Now, here's the real problem: When I call from my cell phone, the call rings through the bluetooth several times in the car - works great. When I call from our house phone, it rings 3 times before anything shows up on the car display. Then, what shows up is "incoming call - not supported" and it rolls to voice mail.

    Help!!!!!!

That could be a setting on the phone itself. I know you can select different types of rings for different types of calls...possibly your rings for that type of call are off or in a strange mode. Go into the setting of the phone, and/or better yet, go to a Verizon store and show them

Looks like we got it fixed. Went to Verizon to upgrade the firmware on the phone (Motorola V710). He couldn't get some of the files to transfer, so they traded out the phone for one with the newer firmware version.
