    Hi Folks,
I searched around for a complete list of voice commands, unsuccessfully. So I did what any American would do...I researched how to find the list and I compiled it. I have attached it here. If the list administrators think it should be posted elsewhere please feel free to do so. I hope lots of folks read what I have written and get their fingers off the screen and onto the steering wheel. :D

You are welcome Bob. I see a few folks have downloaded it already. I tried out quite a few features today with good results for the most part. My son did better with the multi word commands which surprised me since he tends not to pause between words. On a couple of occassions I was awarded icons I didn't ask for, so I learned "Hide all icons" pretty quickly :p I was successful in setting a destination to a restaurant I have never gone to before. The "detour" command worked awesomely as well.

    Marie,
Thanks for the post. As you can imagine, you're not the first person who wanted a compiled list but since Priuschat has changed servers a few times in the past, your search didn't find them because they were in the other database. What I've done is started a thread in the File Library that points to the thread containing previous versions of the list. Please add your list to that thread.

Marie did a wonderful job of writing out the voice command information that is displayed on the MFD. Thanks.

I started with the 2004 NAV Voice Command list that people supply as the answer to the 2006 voice commands question. This one: http://priuschat.com/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=1360

I then corrected it with the 2006 help information from the MFD, removed the audio tape player commands and crossed out the other 2004 commands that I can't get to work on my Prius. If you can get any of the crossed out commands to work on a 2006 Prius--I will repeat--a 2006 Prius--please tell me and I will put them back in. If people aren't getting the crossed out commands to work, I will remove them completely. Of particular interest are the "Change to _____ guidance" and "SAT" commands.

I note that the "Track down", "Previous Track" commands take you to the beginning of the song. They never take you to the previous track.

I have not had a chance to use the bluetooth commands.

Having started with the 2004 list, my list has many of the undocumented alternative sayings.

2006 owners can private message me with their feedback.

    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi Marie:

Your work inspired me to check it out. I found some interesting details that you may wish to add to your document.

    First, I do have a 2006 Prius.

I checked all the Satellite Radio functions and they appear to work fine for me. Whether I say SAT or SAT1 or Satellite Radio or Satellite Radio 1, it all works. However, I just had installed yesterday the new factory XM Satellite Radio system. But I do recall them working prior to that too. It just didn't have a satellite radio to listen to.

Type up and Type Down work fine too.

I think I found a new word not documented. The command is "NAVIGATION". Saying that command does the same as saying "MAP". BUT I discovered that neither of them will work until you have clicked "I agree" at the warning page when you first select the Map Button on the Multifunction Display.

This may be picky but I also discovered that the command "HIDE ALL ICONS" works. All the documentation I have ever seen, including yours Marie says to use "HIDE ICONS".

"AM RADIO" is a known problem in 2006 Prii. When you give a voice command "AM" or "AM RADIO" the command is recognized but it is not executed. There needs to be more people with 2006 Prii to document this with their dealer so it can be fixed. If no one complains it wont be fixed.

One other interesting thing concerns being in Compass Mode. If you use Voice Recognition there is no way that I can see to get out of Compass Mode to return to seeing the map. Has anyone found a way to do that?

I still think using one's fingers on the screen is faster and less frustrating but I am understanding a few more commands that I might use. But I have also discovered that the cabin must be really quiet. You can't even have your window open with the typical and normal outside noises coming into the car.

    Thanks for making the list.

    Cheers

OK I don't have the satellite radio, glad you do and it works.
I'll check it out but map is shorter and easier for me.
nope, I wrote, hide all icons. I agree that hide icons does not work.
I'll check out this problem and see if it occurs for me as well.
I have successfully given commands on back roads with the windows open. Not on the highway.

I tried the "I'M HUNGRY" command from the 04 list and it caused all restaurant icons to show up on the map. Today I'll be taking a long trip and I will check out more of the 04 commands.

I thought this was fixed for all post-2005 06's (ones made in 2006.)
It works in mine... (mfg 04/06)

Why they wouldn't let people with the problem bring theirs in to have them updated is beyond me.

The AM radio command does not work in my 2006. To get the air conditioning on I can say either "AUTOMATIC CONDITIONING" or "AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING". When I say "RAISE TEMPERATURE" or "LOWER TEMPERATURE" the temperature setting is changed by 4 degrees.
Still trying out more 2004 commands. ;)

You can't get out of Compass Mode. I discovered this about a month ago and posted it in another thread. The command is there, but it doesn't work.

So, what is the command that "should" work? Just curious.

    Tom (qbee42),
I posted an answer to your compass mode question on June 8 in that thread. I guess people don't read "old" threads. Check out the last post.

    Three60guy,
To get the satellite commands to work, did you say "SAT1" as in cat, or S-A-T-1?

Is there a voice command to set the destination by a business phone number?

With your screen on, if you press the Map button followed by the "I Agree", then the voice button on the steering wheel, Jill will ask you for a command. Then either say or press the Help button. You will then get a list of voice commands on the screen. You will need to flip between sections and scroll down to see them all.

I have tried some of the '04 and '05 commands. I have had better results by staying with the commands which show up on the screen.

Perhaps there are other commands which will work.

That would be good to know.

I see that the attachments in this thread are no longer available. I am re-posting my document. It is now version 3.

In my previous (June 8, 2006) post, I had asked for feedback on the commands I could not get to work. I received no feedback. So I removed those commands from my list. They were of the form "Change to _____ guidance", e.g. "Change to turn list guidance."

The file size is larger than I would like, but the formatting is extensive.

    Have fun using the commands.

    Mike
