Toyota dealership wants $150 for the 06 bra. Cannot seem to find it on the Accessories website here. Where did you all buy your Prius 06 bra?

    thanks everyone.

Give this one more chance before it goes completely away.

You can find it on E-bay. Most old ones do not fit the 06 since we have the front bumper spoiler. I looked to buy one a couple of months ago... that was the situation back then. Maybe they have one that fits the 06 now. Just make sure you have the updated one that would fit 06.

Got mine from the dealer I bought the car from. They were happy to discount %15 for $119 total. You need to remove the spoiler/molding to install the bra and reinstall it over the bra afterwords. It fits perfectly on my 2006 this way.

So you have to remove the spoiler everytime you put the bra on. What do you do if you go over a puddle and your car bra gets wet?

How long does it take you to remove the spoiler and put the bra on?

    Thanks.

Good... so I'm not the only one who went the "remove and reinstall air-dam" route! :D

I got what I thought was an '06 specific bra from the dealer. But as was previously noted, there's an additional 1" air-dam under the '06 Prius that the dealer supplied bra does not account for. The presence of this extra air-dam prevents you from simply clipping the bra on. This leads me to believe that a true '06 bra isn't available (yet?)

Removing and re-installing the air-dam to accomodate the bra I got is a bit of a pain. Something like seven screws need to come out, and you also have to remove a flat plastic splash guard which has something like seven screws of its own. Once this is done, you clip on your bra like you would expect, and then reverse the process to screw the splash guard and air-dam back into place.

In all, writhing under the car to to remove the air-dam and splash guard, clip on the bra, and reassemble the whole thing took me about a half-hour. Not something I would want to do (twice) each time the car is washed, which is what the instructions recommend. On our old Accord, we just left the bra when the car got washed (even commercial car washes), and neither the paint nor the bra ever seemed to suffer.

As I noted on another thread on the same subject, you can clean the bumper and the lower bra piece periodically without taking the lower piece off COMPLETELY (by removing the air dam and the splash panel as explained above).

Simply remove all the hooks and snaps ABOVE the bottom ones that are sandwiched between the air dam and the bottom of the bumper. The bra will flop down on the ground with its soft inside exposed for cleaning.

Having done it twice, I can remove all the bolts as described by Prius Dad in 15 min. if I want to remove the bra completely. Small set of sockets required.

toyotapart.com sells the bra for $112 + shipping. This is a dealership's parts dept., Metro Toyota in Kalamazoo, MI. It might be prudent to ask them if the one they have is for the '06. If not, the '04-'05 bras will fit if installed as described above. I don't even know if they're going to revise the bra for the '06s (so that all you have to use is hooks), or if they might have already. I have a hunch they won't.
