    Hiya,

I'm sad to say that I lost my Sony-Ericson T608, so I was over at theToyota/Letstalk BT Phone Site and noticed that the prices seem to have been lowered yesterday.

I'm only sure about the T608 - which is now $100 with a new contract - but I *think* the other phone prices have been lowered as well.

Of course the prices without new contracts remain the same, it appears :-(
So if I want to replace mine it'll still cost $250 :(

Maybe the price change relates to more bluetooth phones being available soon? Verizon is about to release the motorola v710, don't know about other carriers though ...

with the competition for cell phone service, its a given that i change my service and phone every year because for 4 years in a row now, ive always gone up to a better deal each time.

so when i get within a month of the end of my contract, i start looking. i always give my existing service a chance to retain me but as of yet, none seem to want to offer me anything until its too late. i always get offers from them the week AFTER i switch... strange...real strange...

You can buy a new Sony Ericsson T-608 directly from Sprint Telesales at 1-866-PCS-AUTO for only $200 without having to sign a new contract or extending an old one.

    Blutooth for Verizon

Has Verizon announced that it will be introducing a Motorola phone with BT capability? If so, when? I am really anxious for Bluetooth, especially now that Washington, DC's handsfree law went into effect on July 1.

    Re: Blutooth for Verizon

I haven't been able to locate any official announcement but found the following posted by a member of another web board:

"The latest release date information. The phone will be shipped next Friday, July 9th. It will most likely be approved to be released on July 6th. But as nobody will really have the phone until July 9th + shipping time the earliest it could possibly be in your hands is July 10th. So it looks like the week of July 12th would be the likely release date."

Below are a couple of auctions for the v710 (note that one of the sellers claims the official release date will be mid to late July):

Nope! People are just that crazy ... when the phone is released (which will almost certainly happen in the next week or two) it seems to be priced at $240 without a contract or as low as $120 with various contract & rebate discounts.

Looks like a decent phone - I'm torn between replacing my lost/stolen T608 and going with Sprint, or going for the v710 and Verizon.

I would have preferred to stay with Sprint and my Treo 300, eventually upgrading to the Bluetooth enabled Treo, but Sprint's coverage in my area was too spotty.

That v710 appears to have every feature in which I am interested and all in a bitesize package. However, I refuse to pay 1 large for it.

Actually, I don't know what happened over on ebay but ALL of the v710's that were there a few hours ago are now GONE, except for one! The v710 that was bid up to something like $1,025 is history and the auction had almost 4 more days to run.

    Delrey,

Where can I find out the price options on the V710? Phonescoop.com had a forum about this phone and people there were throwing out price like $250-300 WITH a contract. I like your price estimate a lot better :D
    Thanks for the info!!

Well, I'm afraid I'm just propagating rumors, though the info I've found on wirelessadvisor.com has been more reliable (and the posters less rabid) ... see this link:

    Wireless Advisor V710 discussion

where a post by "Almighty1" says:
He also posted a rather poor quality picture of this alleged flyer, which appears to show the LG VX7000 and the Moto v710 both for $120

The VX7000 does seem to be going for about that ($180 with new contract) without the supposed rebate from the "Future Wireless" store, so it seems possible that this is legit. (Of course we don't care about the vx7000 except for the validation of this posters data).

Our corporate rep says that the v710 will be released on July 12, but I have no idea how reliable her information is, because she is newly assigned to our company so I don't know her yet.

The real pricing information won't be available until the phone is released though ...

Thanks a bunch! I did order a replacement for my lost phone, as I just found I wasn't comfortable living without a cell phone until the motorola v710 comes out. I'm a single mom and need to be available in case of emergency.

So you saved me $50, or more, since Sprint waived the shipping fees ...

P.S. Now toyota.letstalk.com has the t608, with new contract of course, at a $50 credit. Or as they phrase it "You make $50".

I think you can get an un-locked T608 on Ebay and use it with Verizon.

Well, I just spoke with a rep at a Verizon store and he emphatically stated "4th quarter" for the v710. I don't know how reliable his information is either but he sounded pretty confident that it wasn't going to be in their stores anytime in the next few weeks. :(

I thought I was going to be able to walk into a VZW store and buy one this Monday! Weird thing is Motorola has a "Bluetooth Wireless Accessory Giveaway" for the first 710 customers who buy and register a v710 and that promotion expires August 1st!!!!!!! So, I don't know what's up with this 4th quarter stuff.

Hmmmm......does Motorola make any parts for the 04 Prius?

Well you can't believe what you here from reps in the stores -- becaue Verizon doesn't give them much information! So they're forced to rely on rumors, just like us, and that's just about as reliable.

Our corporate rep said that it was going to be released on 7/12, and then emailed me Friday to say that it had been delayed untl the 7/19. I have no idea if her info is more reliable that a store rep's but just throwing that out to go along with your news ;-)
