All Prii have the "security" flashing (It was flashing in my 2004 as well). Since the 2016+ Prii have a larger 12v battery, it should not be a serious drain. All modern cars will drain their 12v battery in a few months if left idle. The Gen1 - Gen3 Prii would drain their 12v batteries in about a month.

welcome! yes, and it's a very minor part of the drain on the 12v. if you don't drive much, you should hook up a battery tender, otherwise you're fine. and actually, the gen4 has a larger battery, so you probably don't even need the tender.

It's main function is to slowly, inexorably bring your battery to its knees.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is what I use if a cloth (wet or dry) doesn't remove it.

Because it is an abrasive, brush lightly at first and increase pressure gradually. Of course, ensure it's damp (per the instructions).

I used a microfibre cloth - wet I think - and it came off. But it could depend on the compound of the shoe sole. I remember getting some off a door in the house using a pencil eraser.
