The Canada Prius Scheduled maintenance deviates from the above (and seems much more aggressive about fluids):

    Every 10k:
    1. Replace Cabin Air Filter
    Every 60k:
    1. Replace Hybrid Transaxle Fluid
At 80k and every 40k following:
    1. Replace Inverter Coolant
    2. Replace Super Long Life Coolant
    Every 120k:
    1. Replace Iridium Spark Plugs

Is there anything I'm missing or needs to be done for high-mileage Gen2s?

    Couple of thoughts:

    1. Where you say "replace" engine or cabin filter, is that how it's worded in the documents, or is it more along the lines of "inspect, clean and/or replace"? With the cabin air filter in particular I'm inclined to just clean (brush, tap, and blow air through in reverse direction) and reinstall, until it's gasping to be replaced. With the engine air filter, I wouldn't attempt to clean any more than a bit of tapping, but still would not knee-jerk replace at the service interval, especially if it's barely dusty.

    2. Where you say "visually inspect brake...", are you sure there's not a difference on some of those, periodical another expression is used, meaning a more in-depth brake inspection? In other words, some brake inspections are a cursory visual inspection, but once in a while a thorough inspection is specified, involving some disassembly, measurement, clean and lube. Check the wording.

Having done the legwork, maybe you should make a table format schedule for US second generation, I did something like that for third gen. The interval-by-interval format of the US schedule has it's pros-and-cons. The main downside I think, comparing to table format: it's hard as heck to see the patterns, kind of irritating. I found too when I made a table format conversion of 3rd gen: there were a few anomalies, ie: they missed a few services, for no good reason, likely just oversight.

That's how it's worded in the documents. I feel like the filters are pretty cheap so I just replace them on schedule.

Again, it's straight from the SMG. I'm at 135k miles and haven't had to change my brakes although I'm thinking it'll be soon.

I'll look into it. The main thing I was worried about is for stuff that's not in the SMG. Some of the "lifetime" things aren't covered (transaxle fluid, etc) and I had to find them in other sources (Bentleys, Toyota Canada). I'm hoping the collective knowledge will fill in any gaps.

(above is a snapshot, response by @AmericanIdiot)

An in-depth brake inspection is spec'd every 30,000 miles or 3 years (whichever comes first). This is (obviously) the 04 schedule, closest pdf I had, but I think if you check your booklet you'll see similar.

Really: if you've gone 135,000 miles, had the car since new, you're way overdue.

Have you read the "sticky" thread above about what services you need and what you don't? There's some good history and advice there.

Probably one of the best things one can do for an aging Prius is get in the habit of checking the engine oil level every couple of fill-ups. Most owners don't have to do a thing for the first 120 or 150K miles, and get complacent about some of the basics.

I think my schedule mentions a brake fluid change at 60 or 100K. That may be important for the health of the expensive accumulator on these cars.

I think it mentions the PCV valve when spark plugs are done at 120K miles.

Commonly heard on this site, and I've seen it documented elsewhere, is to change coolant in both systems every 50K miles after the first 100K mile change. That's less aggressive than the Canadian schedule but it's the same idea.

Canadian Prius maintenance schedule, from 2014 onward, says 48,000 km's (30,000 miles) or 3 years (whichever comes first), for brake fluid change.
