What does this Beep mean?

    I recently purchased my 2016 Prius C 3. There is a 'Beep' that is different from the interior and exterior buzzer that seems to be coming from driver side behind the steering wheel and sounds every time I turn on the car after it has been off for some time. The shortest interval time I have been able to document is 15 mins.

    The 'Beep' has been adding one more beep every time I turn it on.

    Neither screen displays any error messages.
    I had some diagnostic tests performed at the dealer to no avail.

    Can you identify the Beep?

    [UPDATE: 12/06/16] I am at the dealership for another round of tests. I have not forgotten about this post.

    [UPDATE 2: 12/06/16] I left the vehicle at the dealership. I took a loaner until they can fix it. Toyota says they didn't know what the sound was from.

    congrats and welcome! are you talking about the beep, or the three whistles? i always get the beep when starting. also, i don't have any buzzers, what do they sound like? i wonder if c is different, or 2016.

    I'm asking about the three whistles. (Since that video now I hear eight and next time I turn on the car I will hear 9!)
    According to the manual, the usual beeps are referred to as the "warning buzzer."

    Toyota is kind enough to provide manuals online, but I cannot yet post a link because of my status! :p

    yeah, those whistles are a new one on me. i'll be interested to hear what others say. the dealer never heard them before?

    Exactly! The main tech at the dealer said this is the first they ever heard this. They opened a tech ticket with Toyota.

    I did take it to a second dealer, but the main tech was not present. The service guy at the second dealer says this is the first time he ever hears of this too! I will be taking it on Dec 6 when both are present.

    If I find anything out, I'll update for sure!!

    Definitely NOT a normal sound.
    Is this car equipped with an after-market theft alarm ??

    Since it is a brand new car, I would leave it at the dealership until they find out what it is and fix it........using a loaner, or course.

    That is a warning whistle. Your U34 uridium modulating flux capacitor is faulty and needs replacement.

    I've never heard that on my 2012 Prius C.

    I wonder if an ODB-II scanner might reveal some sort of code that the car is trying to warn you about?

    I have not tried a scanner myself, but I was hopeful there would be an event log that would be apparent to the dealers' scanners. Unfortunately, they did not read anything.

    The warning on the head unit was for the Nav.
    What is visible in the video reads:

    ! CAUTION
    Drive safely and obey traffic
    and making selections while
    accident. Some map data on
    shown on this or other vehicle
    Check surroundings for safe
    displayed. Read safety instruction
    Manual.

    I can take a picture if you'd like to see the rest that was chopped off.

    Okay, gotcha. I thought maybe it had something to do with the whistle beep thing. I've never heard that before, so crazy. Sorry that you have to go through that.
