    Date Ordered: 5/13/06
Dealer Ordered From (Incl. City/State): Stone Mountain Toyota (Atlanta, GA)
Timeframe given for delivery: 30 days
    Color: Magnetic Gray
    Option Package: #8
Your # on Dealer's Waiting List: don't think they have one

I was told the allocation was to happen on 5/18 and that I was going to be their first pick (whatever that means). Also was quoted $696.25 for the Toyota XM radio solution. Seems a bit high.

    Wish me luck!

Just got the call. My Magnetic Gray baby has been secured and should be here by June 26. So that's 45 days from order versus the original 30 days quoted. No biggie. By the way, has anyone seen that there are 800 Prius' coming into the Southeast (including 50 Magnetic Grays). I guess the factory is working double time!

Update: I got the call today that my Prius was in. I questioned the manager because I knew it wasn't due until the 26th. So I go to the dealer and there it is...a beautiful Magnetic Gray pkg #8, but it was a missing a few items (bumper protector, tinted windows, splash guards and interior lights). I was assured they could add those things at the dealer (except the lights) and so I took it for a spin.

When I got back to the dealer, my saleperson and I were informed that the car wasn't actually mine. Mine is still coming in on the 26th. What a let down! I told them they were going to have to compensate me in some way for wasting my time. They said we would work it out when my car came in. We'll see.

P.S. I got them down to $509 on the XM radio. I know that's still $50 more than the Toyota website, but I know I won't install the thing myself. It's $200 less than they originally quoted. Thanks to all the postings on here, I had plenty of ammo to prove their orginal price was BS.

I would sure like to know how some dealers seem to know when a certain car is coming at a certain time but they don't seem to be able to tell you the vin# or anything that would identify a certain car as yours.

Well, I'm officially a Prius owner. The car came in on 6/23, but I was out of town. Picked it up last night and it is beautiful!

I got the dealer down to $486 for the XM Radio in final negotiations (will be installed sometime in the next two weeks). They also had accidentally ordered the carpet mats and trunk mat which they included for free ($209 value). All in all, I'm pleased with the deal I got.

    Here are the specs:
    2006 Package #8
    Magnetic Gray
    Tinted Windows
    Splashguards
    Rear bumper protector
    Interior light package
Carpet mats and trunk mat (free!)
All weather mats ($87 from dealer)
XM radio (soon - $486 from dealer)

So the "list" price with all weather mats and XM radio (including delivery, but not doc, tax, tag, title) is $30,730. I paid $29,100. Of course, they didn't give me quite what I wanted for my trade so it all worked out (in their favor, I'm sure) in the end.

I look forward to less stops at the gas station and using regular unleaded (my previous car took premium and averaged 19 MPG).
