I am looking at buying my first used Prius. Right now there are 3 options I'd like to run by this forum and ask for feedback. The first Prius is a 2011 one owner clean car fax, from photo looks in good shape with 76045 miles asking price $12999 but open to negotiate with a very reputable Toyota dealer in idaho who encourages mechanical inspections.
Second car is Prius 2012 with 62587 miles for $12972 from out of state (Oregon ) Toyota dealer. Sales person not as confident about me getting mechanical inspection. Clean car fax but two owners.
Third is 2012 with 74763 miles for $12495, from car lot , clean car fax but car had commercial use. Not sure of car lot reputation. Would like feedback from group about which is better car to buy. Thx for input!

One owner 2011 with negotiations. I don't like private car lots

Buy closer to home, when you need a warranty repair, it'll be much easier

Thx JC. The kbb value for 2011 Prius wi 76k mi range is $9,929 - 11,770
Fair price is $10850. Sugg retail $11,332. The 2011 Prius is $12999.
I havev$9k cash plus my late model Subaru wagon that needs body work that has 91k miles, the dealer will only give me around $500. This dealer isn't known for lowering there prices as they are biggest Toyota dlr in Boise. What would b best offer to make? I might b able to get $500 more but that's pushing it. Ideas?

sell your car on craigs list, what is the value on kbb? agree with jc, a trip to oregon doesn't sound worth it to save a few bucks and used car lots scare me too. bite the bullet, offer them $10,500. and see what they come back with. is it certified? have you test driven it yet? have you ever driven a prius? all the best!(y)

The true market value on a late model Subaru should be way more than $500. You can probably think about donating the car and getting is full value as a tax write off

ya, those subies are like prius, lots of miles left in it. in fact, it would be much better, economically to just keep it.

We have a member selling his car is WA. 2011 prius five, with the tech package. Less than 33000 miles and $15700. For a prius five with advanced tech package, that is a great price.

Owner says he's 89 years old and first owner

Wouldn't you need to move the steering wheel to the other side?

Sure I could, just as soon as they build the new bridge.

No problem. I'd just keep to the right, same as you guys. Let the others keep out of my way!:cool:

Oh yes! I remember the Amphicar when I was serving in Aden (a former British Protectorate now absorbed into south Yemen). Sensational, but plagued with problems, if I recall.

It is a Canadian car known as the Bricklin SV-1 (Safety Vehicle 1). It was supposed to be an efficient, safe sports car.
It was too heavy to be economical. It had factory powered gullwing doors. The body was a plastic that had the color infused throughout.
    See Bricklin SV-1 - Wikipedia
