Who else out there owns a 2010 Gen III that suffers from inconsistent sometimes nonexistent brakes and strange noises but who's VIN is not covered in the Brake Booster Recall? After about a year of driving with squishy, unreliable brakes I finally started to do some homework and came across the Brake Booster recall. It describes my issue to a T. Mechanical humming noise, compressed air sounds and a loss of brake power randomly.

Got in touch with Toyota and they're no help. Actually really disappointed in the really bad customer service.

Any suggestions or am I looking at a repair out of pocket?

You can always file your complaint with the NHTSA. They like to know about these problems

You contacted Toyota corporate or your local Toyota dealer? I've always had good customer service with Toyota corporate

Never stop with the first person you speak with at corporate. I've owned a number of Toyotas and have sometimes had to go higher in the hierarchy. My final success rate has been very high. Stress that this is a safety issue. Good luck.

Try sending a PM to @Prius Team . They are the Toyota US Prius marketing team. They should be able to direct you.

ABS dash lights come on at random. Usually as I hit heavy bumps. When ABS comes on brakes are pretty much gone.

Will probably try some escalation at some point but this whole thing has left me pissed off and stressed out. Thinking about just selling the car and being done with Toyota. Plenty of other awesome hybrids on the market.

Contacted Toyota Corporate both over email and phone. They were terrible and basically told me there's nothing they will do.

When you hit large bumps, your car will lose traction and it's normal for a momentary abs/traction control light to come on
