    Hey I'm checking in here!

We live on one of the hills with about 15 other Prius owners. I posted on another thread re: lousy mileage going from our hill to USF each day 3.6 one way, our car doesn't even have a chance to warm up properly eh?

But at least now we know what the issue is/are thanks to this forum.

Hubbie and I are proud owners of silver 2002 Prius (named "Rado") and salsa red 2005 Prius (named "Suela"). Get pretty much the same mileage with both cars -- between 46 and 49, sometimes higher in the 2002 when driving on flat terrain for long distances. Live in Santa Cruz Mountains, so commute is hilly.

    Hi Group!

I ordered my Silver 2006 Prius about 5 months ago at Toyota Sunnyvale. I took delivery a week ago Tuesday(05/02/06). Stan, the fleet manager, took me throught the most complete delivery process I have ever been through with a new car. Also, because my FIL also ordered a prius when I did, we were given $500 under MSRP. Not great, but not bad either since they really don't need to do anything to sell these things.

Anyway, I'm having a ball with the new car. I (almost) like to go to work, so I can drive it.

I'm waiting not so patiently for my license plates to arrive so I can get my HOV stickers. I have the FT already.

I have been looking for definitive information on XM radio for a 2006 Prius, but no luck yet. Anyone have any concrete news?

I could go on with other minor stories, but I need something to talk about in the future.

    Hello.

I picked up my own 2006 Silver Prius 2 days ago (05/12/2006) at Toyota Sunnyvale, as well. My salesman was Jim Pardinez.

I love the car, so far. I'm extremely pleased with it.

I was just wondering about the HOV stickers. I have both the DMV HOV application as well as the FastTrak application mostly filled out. In fact, all I need to fill in are my license plates. How long of a wait is it supposed to be? The finance guy told me about a month, but then that brings up the question as to how retlawfan managed to get his FT transponder so quickly.

Yup, now I'm going out to the car to fiddle and see what else I can customize on it.

    Cheers.

Well I got our stickers from the office across from the pier. As I recall the transponder was that day, the stickers came in the mail.

I have massive vacation in August, the entire month, and would love to help plan a 'club' meeting. I like the idea of the Presidio lots of space for pictures.

Just had my first day time use of the HOV lane I tried to be real casual but inside I was just losing it, you know feeling all righteous! ... And then I was back in the city and just one of many cows on a road, LOL.

Well, after emailing many dealers, I plunked down a $500 deposit at SFToyota today. They said they have a previously ordered #4 arriving in the next 2-3 weeks, which is exactly what I wanted.

    Thanks,

You do not need to have a license plate to get the FasTrak transponder. If you drive to SF to get the transponder, you can leave with it the same day. You DO NOT have to wait for it to be mailed. Once you have your transponder, you just have to wait for plates to arrive and send off the DMV form ASAP. Although, the lates stickers arriving are in the 58000 range out of 75000. There is still probably plenty of time.

By the way, if you put the address of the FasTrak office into your DVD Navigation System, it sends you to the wrong end of the waterfront in SF. Call them for specific directions.

Hello! I have been lurking here since the morning after I picked up my black '06/pkg 3 (picked up May 10, lurking since May 11). Yes, I already wonder how I ever existed without the Prius--but also how I coped without Google! As soon as I first put the car into reverse, I KNEW the backup beep would simply HAVE TO GO! So, I Googled something like "toyota prius back beep disable," and got to the appropriate chats! If for nothing else, this group is the supreme ruling entity!!

Anyway, it is 3.30 am and I should be making an attempt to sleep...I just got sidetracked...I logged on to look for something specific, and just ended up bopping around and reading stuff and forgetting what I wanted to look up...

    Yet another senior moment...

Oh--and I also found someone who signed herself as a member of something like "cool chicks in a Black Prius." My husband and 18-year-old son say I gotta join! B)

Hope to meet some fellow SF Bay area folk sometime!

SF Toyota said they couldn't get the #4 for another month, and that was only a best guess :/

So I put down a $500 deposit for a #3 at Toyota Sunnyvale. It seems to be best price in the Bay Area--$23616 +fees and tax with either a CostCo or AAA discount. Anyone have any idea how long the wait's running?

    Hi All,
My wife Kelly and I picked up our new Black 2006, package 6 Prius for Downtown Auto in Oakland about 2 weeks ago. The process was pretty painless, we went in looking for one and they tried to shanghai us on a used one (for $27k) that I think they keep in the back for suckers. We said no and were walking out the door when they offered a Black #6 guaranteed from their next shipment. My wife being a lawyer made them write down the VIN and refused to sign their financing as we have a credit union. Last wednesday it went to get the leather installed, which looks fantastic. We love this car and were looking forward to a gr8 drive yesterday over to see friends on the Peninsula from our home in Oakland Hills.
Heres where the story takes a dive :( on returning from our local farmers market yesterday we found an elderly gentlemen and his card sideways in front of our house and our brand new babies rear-end smashed in. the drivers side rear wheel is tweaked and the bumper mangled. It doesnt look like there is body damage and at least its not major mechanical but you can imagine how we feel.

Anyway really looking forward to getting our healed baby back to her shiny self!

    cheers-John

Hi. I've been on here for a while but I haven't posted in the Bay Area forum yet. I have a Silver 2005 Prius and I have a commute that is awesome for mileage. I live in Pleasanton and I commute to Mountain View or San Jose. :)

This is great! I had no idea there was an SF Forum. Any get-togethers being planned?

I live in Vallejo. Anybody else out that way?
