image.jpeg image.jpeg Engine top cover is not cracked but is simply missing one of the three mounting rubber pieces. Can these be purchased somewhere? I tried searching for the number on the side but to no avail.

I wonder if you could cobble something, with a piece of washing machine feed hose, hacksaw a retainer groove in it, and maybe push in a piece of vacuum hose with some rubber glue on it, if needed to reduce the Inside Diameter.

    welcome!

try a dealer parts counter. if it's too expensive, look for salvage, ebay or on line parts like camelback toyota.

    what happen to it?

Did you do a thorough search under the cover? About the only place you are going to find one is at the dealer. I did a pretty extensive search and also, had no luck.
BTW, it's referred to, as an "Engine Appearence Cover", for search purposes.

Are you sure it's not attached to the corresponding metal stud on the engine?

But otherwise, it's Toyota parts counter or wrecking yard for you.

Yeah, took some searching. Bought a couple about a year ago. Keep on searching various dealer web sites: At least one has the grommets.

There's no question that one of the "exploded" views shows the grommet and part number, so actually walking into a dealership's part department and special ordering the grommet should get you somewhere.

I've got a spare, so, if you get well and truly stuck ding me and I'll see if I can hunt it up in the spare parts bin/mess.

Missing is a feature of buying a used car.

I'm sure it will stay on with just one missing. Just expected to find one in just a few minutes and after an hour got frustrated and tried this wonderful forum. I'll probably try to make one myself when I stumble upon something I think can be modified to work.

Ya gotta just search. "Grommet engine cover prius" did it for me.
Link:. Reference #: 11212A, Cushion, Cylinder Head, Grommet.

    $2.47 a pop. Have fun.

Ha. My time in the USN ended in 1977; back then, everything used comcodes, nothing was computerized, and it was all with commas, no semicolons anywhere. I didn't do anything military with this one, though: The above is a direct quote right off the web page in question.

This thread is a bit old, but the link above doesn't work any more. i believe i've found the correct Toyota PN for this "Cushion, Cylinder head cover": 90480-16049
Hope this helps save someone else the googling :)
