Methinks. At least that's the way it seems from what little I know of the philosophy (I wouldn't really call Buddishm a religion).

Low stress and and doing "stuff" that interests you. The ability to feed yourself is definitely up there, but money is a tricky issue. If you live simply so many of the "modern" problems sorta disappear. Always easier said than done, but it seems to be true.

Others have already covered most of what I think makes a good life, but there is one more that is important to me, having the emotional "tools" for a life from which I can draw strength and beauty, even at times of pain, stress, and loss.

Leaving a legacy of morality, kindness, and love. It's not what you take with you...it's what you leave behind.

For me, a good life is one that would glorify God and edify the church.

If you die with no regrets, then you had a good life.

You really can;t decide if you've had a good life until then, as that's the only time you can sum it all up. I could try to say today if I had a good life or not, but who knows what happens tomorrow.

To that I would add: knowing that for the most part, you gave life's challenges your best shot, and at the least did not cause prolonged emotional pain to significant others

    "First do no harm..."

Creating the life of at least one son or daughter who seems pointed toward a reasonably happy and productive life is my most tangible legacy---whether that "success" is despite me or somewhat because of me is a separate question...

"It's not what you take with you...it's what you leave behind."

Very true, considering that you don't take anything "with you", including the "you"
