My apologies for getting off topic, again. And thanks to the OP about the bubble in his Toyo tire. I will certainly be checking mine to see if any bubbles develop.

One good thing about living in Southern California, all you really need is a fairly basic set of all-season tires.
Nothing special. We only have ONE season here! :ROFLMAO:

5000 is almost new - I'd just replace the one. It'd be different if they were 25,000.

I am just replacing the one.

I will like to give everyone a run down of what happened so that they may learn from my experience.

I discovered the bubble when I took the car in for its 5000 mile service at Cerritos Toyota and Scion. Just a point of reference, I did not buy my car from this dealership. Any who they said they would check if I have tire warranty and would see if they could fix the tire under warranty. Long story short they really didn't help much regarding the tire. They kept emphasizing how the warranty was with Toyo and not with them and that it would be my responsibility to contact them. Having this experience for the first time I didn't argue and just walked away.

I looked at Toyos website and it told me that to cover a warranty i should have the car inspected at a local Toyo tire servicer. Being in the Cerritos/Norwalk area I found that Best Buy Tire Pros near Pioneer was the closest center. I took the car in on 1/2 and they told me right away because the bubble was on the side wall it was likely caused by a pothole and that the warranty would most likely not cover it. I couldnt speak to Toyo that day because they were closed observing the New Year. I spoke with Toyo directly today, a guy named JD, and he told me to take my car back to Best Buy tire pros and have them call him. Long story short they covered my one tire! And all I had to pay out of pocket was for the labor and tpms installation fee which brought my total to around $31.46. And unlike the dealer Toyo would help me somehow get the same oem new tire Toyo Nanoenergy A29 through their special service. I expect to get it within 3 days or earlier.

Overall my experience with Toyo tires as a consumer has been great so far. I am glad as a company they care about customer loyalty because they just scored some major points with me.

In regards to best buy tire pros it remains to be seen what service they provide but so far they have been very courteous and nice.

And lastly oh Cerritos Toyota, you really didn't go to bat for me. And also when I asked you to remove the back up camera constant beeping on my car, you told me it would cost $139 dollars? When I read from other posters other dealerships change the ringing to a single beep for free of charge? Shame on you. You won't be getting my service for the 10000 mile oil change.

When I asked my dealer to change the backup beep from continuous to a single beep the service rep asked me if I bought the car there. When I said yes he said no charge. It's possible that the Cerritos Toyota dealer would not charge for the change if you had purchased the car there. Just say'...

Great news tire with bubble replaced for around 31 dollars (tire was covered by a limited warranty) from toyo despite it being a side bubble (which is apparently caused by running over potholes). Just had to pay for install. Seeing as how I am rather aware of the incident that caused the bubble (damn you LAX and your horrible roads) I am relatively happy.

Was this replaced at the dealer or some other tire shop?

EDIT. I see that a tire dealer helped you.

Yeah there's little/no connection between the tires and the dealership. I've had tire retailer go to bat for me with premature treadware issue. Some Michelins: at the wear bars at half the warranted mileage. He contacted Michelin, and we ended up getting replacement for half-price.

Had that happen with a Good year assurance fuel max. Lowered the pressure on that tire and put it on the back and the bubble went away.

Tire warranties are a crap shoot these days and your best bet is a national chain when it is time for new tires and get the complete road hazard warranty. Sams and Walmart have been good so far.

Walmart actually was able to order me the MIJ tires online/ship them to the store and then had the local Walmart do the install.

As far as your question, always put new tires on the back.
Tires do not taste like chicken BTW.
