When I test drove a 2005 Prius, I noticed that the Nav displayed the address of the residences as you drove by. They would constantly change. On my 2006, I can't seem to find this feature. I can touch the current position arrow and see the address but it is locked on that one address. Is this feature available in a 2006

Not sure I understand what you mean. I didn't notice that in the 05 I test drove. In the 06 the current road I'm driving on get's highlighted and changes as I change streets. It doesn't show numbers though

I think that may depened on the zoom level you have the map set at, but I am not certain about that. I know if you zoom in down as far as possible and hit the "map" button on an 2006 that it will tell you the exact location that it thinks you are at, in terms of an address that is.

They had to have had it zoomed in all the way...

Only in certain areas the maps are more detailed...down to individual buildings. You will see the "+" in the far bottom left turn into a road icon.

When that icon is available you can zoom in this way. This seems to only be available in major metropolitan areas.

I'll have to try it also. I thought it was a great feature as my wife makes house calls on her job. It would make it alot easier for her to find houses

I had mine doing that once a few weeks ago, but found that that the GPS wasn't very specific on the street that I was on. This particular street had house numbers running from 100-130 but by the end of the street it was showing 190-something. So apparently it was just assuming that the block would run from 100 at one end to 200 at the other end. It may be more accurate on streets with businesses.

Just tried it and could not get it to work. Zoomed in, tried all screens, nothing. I think when I drove the '05 addresses should up in the position screen. All I get in the '06 is the street name. Good feature. It would be a shame if it was not in the '06.

I believe that if you press the map button while viewing the map you will, for a brief period of time, be shown the address. I do not know how to keep it on all of the time though.

I have an '05 so I don't know if this applies, but if you set the nav display to coordinates (it looks like a round compass on the left and stacked rectangular boxes for destination and current location on the right) your approximate address is shown in the current location box, as well as your lattitude and longitude.

    Yes, it is.
My mother in law has it. To enable it you have to go to the screen which displays the options to turn off/on the buttons you want to see (like the street address button). I would assume, that someone disabled it, so you go there, and turn it back on. I turned mine off in both my Hybrids, since it gets in the way, and also, as mentioned, the maps aren't always 100% up to date.
