Rather poor experience trying to buy a Prius v today. Advice for next time?

    Dealers aren't going to refrain from "beating up" the customer if the customer lets them. Keeping that in mind, there is no reason the customer should pay a penny more then the absolute lowest price that they could get on their car. My two cents. I'd be all for more fair and firm prices, but for every hard negotiating customer there are probably ten suckers who buy at sticker price. So you'll never see bottom dollar prices being advertised, the dealers make more this way.

    Try to get a 2013 or later Prius v because of the revised front suspension which improved handling over the 2012 model.

    Take a good look at CAR MAX. They seemed like "honest brokers" when I sold them my 2007 RAV 4 V6. They can quickly find you the car that you want.
