2007 no start

    My niece recently purchased a 2007 with low miles in very nice condition. Recently the auxiliary battery has drained requiring jump starting on several occasions, most recently the car would not start at all. Since it was the original battery, I replaced it hoping that would be the solution. No such luck.
    Subsequently found two blown fuses in the under hood fuse box which when replaced increased the level of activity but still no MFD or Speedo display, no remote door locks and no forward movement. We ultimately had it towed to the Toyota dealership but I would love to hear your theories.

    The last jump start attempt was done incorrectly, with reverse polarity. See what the dealer says, hopefully the problem is a fusible link and not the hybrid drive electronics.

    Weird thing is, the car ran after the last jump start and then failed to restart after she parked it???

    Yeah, that is weird. Hopefully the prognosis is much better, then.

    Was there a check engine light? There may be diagnostic codes the dealer can access.

    Which fuses did you replace? Did you check the rest with an ohmmeter? Did you check the high-current fusible links?

    An '07 still running on the original battery would be unusual.

    Yes hopefully the 100 amp fusible link is just blown. We have seen this thousands of times here.
    Getting that relaced at the dealer woo boy there going to rump you hard.

    My theory is the niece got another jump probably from the same idiot who blew the fuses to begin with.

    It is imperative that you get all the codes the car threw the dealer should harvest them before attempting repair, Post them back here.

    Don't be surprised if the dealer reports a blown inverter with a cost of
    $5000 and have a real nice new car with her name on it ready to trade up to.

    I am in Wisconsin. I did plug my code reader in but it wouldn't power up. The fuses I replaced were a 10 amp and 15 amp in the first bank just forward of the positive jump terminal.

    It usually blows the hard wired installed wire link under the hood in the black fuse box to the right of inverter. Big job. It's the one under the clear plastic.

    My local dealer is $145 an hour.

    If that's blown the dealer may condemn the inverter also as it's listed in the manual trouble tree if memory serves. Which replaced at the dealer will total the car.

    Had a prism/corolla similar problem. Turned out to be taillight wire shorted or never turned off causing the battery to drain slowly while off. I would think they could test for similar issue with multimeter.

    Fuseable link blown, $550 Parts and labor. Should be back on the road today if the part comes in.

    One final note; after reviewing the series of events that lead up to the situation, it is clear that the jumper cables were reversed leading directly to the blown link and subsequent failure to start.

    And very lucky ....
    Hybrid inverter and ECU are survivors....
    Don't let people that don't know how to jump start ruin your .......this could be big $$$$ repair
