Remote Climate Control - Working?

    No, I have only tried using last climate setting; and doing it that way it only asked me for my pin one time.

    With solar roof. It's the same in Finland - you can't pair the "Technology Package" with the solar roof.

    Mine doesn't work :(. Can't ever connect to the car for anything except information. Any commands I've sent, even to start charging, haven't worked.

    I can get info like if it's charging and whatnot but.

    iPhone ?

    Seems like Toyota Support was right. Logging out of Entune then logging back in seems to work every time. Also you have to keep your phone open to the remote climate app the whole ten minutes that remote climate is running. It prompts you to enter your pin on three separate occasions. I found out the hard way, I'm on the 14th floor of my apartment and wanted to close the phone immediately after running remote climate (that's a no-no) I hope this info helps others that are experiencing issues with remote climate or charge mode.:D

    So what happens if someone calls you while running remote climate ?
    Why can't it just run in the background?
    Todays mobiles have more than enough ram to run multiple apps at the same time .

    Could be the limitation of the app rather than the phone. (i.e. if it's open, you know the car is running. If it's in the background, the owner might forget. Again, it's Toyota's super conservative approach to things)

    Me too. Everything else works just fine except the Remote Climate. Tried with 3 different phones and none of them could get it to work.

    my price has been at the dealer for 7 days for this issue. Also the pre-climate when setting a departure time does not work

    So far for me, since finally getting it working, I have had no problems with remote climate. I just open it on my phone, enter the pin number, set it, turn it on, then close my phone. I don't necessarily try to keep the app open or active, but my phone does have 4G of RAM so it may keep it running in background if it was one of my last few applications. I have not noticed it failing after starting. This being said, this app is horrible, poor performance, poor design. Rotating the dial to max heat is torture. I have to slide it like 10 times before if finally stays where I intend it to (Android).

    Are you sure? If you're basing that on the Toyota website, it's notoriously inaccurate.

    I agree, I took my car to the dealership to address the issue with having to log out, restart phone and log back in before Remote Climate would even work and the fact that I have to enter my pin first to initialize first time use after logging out and logging back in then having to enter my pin three times during the ten minute Climate show. They told me there's nothing they can do because (as I already knew) the phone is not compatible. :mad:

    We couldn't get the Entune App to acknowledge our Safety Connect account. After numerous phone calls to Toyota, someone very high up called my wife and said it was fixed. She told him about the Remote Climate issue and said to him "Don't even tell me my phone isn't compatible because I used my kids' phone and it's on the list. He said that Toyota was well aware of the problem (of Remote Climate) and its on their end, not the phone manufacturers" He was very nice about it but you would think the app would have been built and designed better.

    Really? :D - Given the design of their solution up to this point, I would not expect it to be better. Now for a company this large and selling this many vehicles I would have expected the entire infotainment system to be better, but clearly it isn't so bad the people refuse to buy the cars because of it.

    We got the Safety Connect to work but haven't played with the Remote Climate at all.

    Tried mine today worked fine, didn't have to sign out/restart phone/ sign back in:cool:

    Make sure that your car is locked. If you have it unlocked, the pre-climate setting in the charge scheduler and the climate apps in Entune will not work. At least that's been my experience.

    Thanks for the heads up about the Entune site. I can start the air conditioning from my key fob, but I've been getting failure messages when trying to do it from the Entune app. Using the compatibility checklist I see that my Galaxy Note 5 does not have Remote Climate available either.
