Can I leave a dual USB charger in the cigarette lighter of my 2016 Prius 4 Touring without draining the battery? I wouldn't leave my phone or tablet plugged into it. I just want to know if I can leave a dual USB plug with a lightning cable attached so I don't have to take it out every time I get out of the car. thanks.

It turns off (at least in Australia - many things different here) when you power OFF. Ours is called a POWER OUTLET, not a cigarette lighter, so that could be different.

    My manual states:

So I guess I it's safe to assume that the outlets will be off when the car is off then?

check it - in my case, it's DEAD.

Was a pain with my old Sat Nav GPS which was plugged in - the moment I powered the car off, it would go to sleep, even if I was just ducking into the shop for 2 minutes. I ended up getting a new one with a battery which works.

I believe all the Prii power off when not Ready or in accessory mode. Just never leave the Fob or key in car overnight ( PRIUS C model 1 ) the car and device communicate all night and can leave you with a dead 12 Volt. To top it off, from the driving position, the key can't be seen

Now, on the Prime the Power button cannot be seen from driving position. Not a problem yet, but something's bound to happen.

I am not aware of any Prius in North America in which the Power outlet is not powered when Ready and dead when not Ready. The tiny 12 volt battery could not sustain an accessory device long.
