I've been having a nightmare trying to get XM installed on my '06 Prius (with Nav System and JBL radio). Most of the phone quotes that I've been getting from dealers are for $800+. Last call I made, the dealer was talking about ordering the receiver, fit kit, antennas, isolators, cables, etc.

Anyone that's done the install themselves, what's in these:

    86180-0W030 - RCVIR, XM SDAR
    PT546-47060 - FITKIT, XM, PRIUS

Do these two items come with the antenna, bracket, wires, etc? Or are those items something that have to be ordered seperately?

I'm thinking about just ordering the two items above and doing the install myself. I installed XM on my old car and think I'm to the task. Just can't seem to get straight answers on what parts are required.

Also, if you ordered the parts from a dealer for self-install, could you share what dealer and what they charged?

    Huge thanks in advance.

Yeah, I've been following that thread for awhile -- but never really saw what I'm asking about: If I need anything else that isn't included with those two (above) items. My instincts say that "Fit Kit for Prius" kind of implies that it includes the bracket to mount it to the car, but... :)

Well, if it doesn't come with all the brackets, then you just get creative. My Solara XM radio that I got from metrotpn.com is mounted to the inside of the rear quarter-panel, above the battery, with 3M Command Release velcro strips. It's held for the past 6 months so far, through really cold and really hot weather.

    86180-0W030 contains only the receiver.
    PT546-47060 contains the following:
1 Wire to radio (from the receiver under the rear seat to the radio)
    1 Tuner Bracket A
    1 Tuner Bracket B
    1 Tuner Cover (foam insulator)
    1 Template (Bracket)
    1 Antenna
    2 Cushion Tape (100mm x 50mm)
    9 Lock Ties
    2 Nuts (M6)
    4 Screws (M5 x L8)
    1 Ground Plate
    1 Template (antenna)
    1 Sheet Tape (30mm x 30mm)

This is straight from the Toyota XM Installation instructions. Other than tools, nothing else is required.

BTW you get the parts online from ToyotaWorld.com for just under $225 plus shipping. (about $25 for me)

Does this new unit, which displays 16 characters, work with the install kit (mainly the cable to the radio) that Coastal E Tech sold for the 05 Prius?
