Hi all, I just bought a used 2011 prius (2?) from a private seller. I've tracked down the manual on the Toyota website, but I found something in the glove box and haven't been able to find reference to it in the manual. The previous owner didn't know what it was, only that it came with the car when she bought it from the original owner. Any ideas what it might be?

weird. I've seen a billion hotel keys and never saw one like that. I just didn't want to pitch it and find out that it was essential to reprogramming something on the car.

I owned a 2011 that I purchased new. There was nothing like that key included anywhere. My 2014 does not have anything like that, nor did my 2004 or my two Prius Cs. I highly doubt it has anything to do with the car.

Could it be for those dealer installed immobilizers? Try look under the dash to see if there is any small black box with a key slot.
If not then just save it somewhere just in case.

That is a "chipped" key for the machine that dispenses practice golf balls at a golf course or driving range. It usually is loaded with $20 or so dollars worth of range/practice balls. Once it's used up you take it back, pay, and have them reload your key.
It's mainly for convenience because golfers don't like to carry around 20 or 30 special coins for the machine. Ah, . . the computer age.
