Im having tremendous trouble removing the taillight assembly.

I know that the taillight is held in by 3 clips, 1 yellow, 2 white and 2x10mm screws but I have no idea how to pry the clips off. Do I need any special tools?

I try searching on the forum and found a couple instructions but they are very vague or the pictures of the instructions are now gone.

Can someone pls point me in the right direction. thanks in advance

I was basing my removal on that video but it doesn't show how they remove the tabs. Maybe I just need to buy that orange thing he's using to remove the light.

Ugh. I want want to install my new tail lights :(

Is there a problem with your original lights or are you changing the look to the mid cycle lights? I have a crack in one of mine that doesn't affect function and have been lazy so far. Let us know how it goes.

So I did end up buying the prying tool from oriellys and it did help out a lot.

I use the prying tool to help get leverage to pop the yellow tab out and as for the two white tabs I went from the inside of the car and pintched them so they would pop out.

If anyone is trying to do the same I recommend buying the tool and starting with the yellow tab first (very top one)

Then going from the inside to pinch the white tabs for easy removal.

Not an easy task imo. I had to use exsessive force to the point where I thought I would break something.

Thankfully nothing snapped and I got to install my new lights. Thanks for all the help guys ❤️ Much appreciated.

nvm check your info and saw the post about your headlights.

Im actually dealing with a similar issue as well. My left headlamp has a small crack and is causing moisturer to be trapped in the lens. It has cause yellowing and hazing on the inside of the lens so I plan on replacing the whole unit when I have time.

Ill be checking your post for reference and the video you posted lol

    thanks

I did my fogs recently too, that was a stressful installation.

Im not very good with wiring and I had to split and cut some wires so I was afraid that when everything was done, it wouldnt work lol

Follow this video exactly, including the steps with the bumper cover. The taillight will not come out if the bumper cover is in place... loosening the bumper cover provides a gap and you will be able to rotate the top of the taillight out and disengage a large plastic hook at the bottom of the taillight. It helps also to put your prying tool between the body fin at the top of the taillight, and the taillight housing, and pry the housing away and down.
