Yeah I was thinking it would pull up-and-off of that hinge. Doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's where I was going. I'll try again: really want to hook up a CTEK quick-connect cord.

And yes: if and when I get the cover off; I'll disconnect battery lead before doing anything else.

I should make this a video so it'll be easier to see where to press and remove it from. :)

    Yeah baby:

    IMG_6371.JPG IMG_6372.JPG

Still had to coerce and cajole: FINALLY the whole contraption pulled up, on the hinge, about 1/2", and was then easily rotatable on that hinge.

I will take a good look at the tabs before pushing it back down, to determine which direction releases them, for next time.

Nice job! (…it's different on my 2009 Gen II - and the plastic cover is RED! )

I also have that, but its on the upper side, this terminal is probably what powers the fuse box I guess... since it's a thick wire,

I was thinking the same thing as mentioned in the video, that the central recess with clips is for a (missing) fuse removal tool.

I managed to get my CTEK quick-connect installed. Had to cut the bulky plastic shoulder off the positive spade connector, other wise the plastic cover was hitting, wouldn't close.

That's my understanding as well, a low gauge wire connecting the positive battery terminal to the fusebox.

Man, that's a walk-in-the-park to access! How we "progress"...

For determining a good ground point, a mulitmeter, preferably with with a continuity setting with beep, is really handy. I found not all bolts were grounded, not sure how or why. I hooked up one lead to my tried-and-true point on the engine itself, then tested various bolts with the other probe.

…I grounded mine to the 10mm bolt on right (…part of hood backet - I scraped the paint off and checked with meter before installing!)

A test light is much faster to test for ground than a multi meter because it lights up if there's power, it's the best tool to check for burnt fuse quickly as well. You can ground the test light to the hood latch by the front bumper.

At least some moments stay at the blond level.

Sometimes mine delve into the "Senior moment" pool:sick:.
