    Hi all,

New here just bought my 2014 in November. Looking for a phone mount that will fit my 2014? What are the rest of you using?

    Thanks! Kim

No mount at all, just Bluetooth through the Multi-Function Display...

It's fine using the Bluetooth for phone calls, but I often find myself preferring to use Google Maps rather than the car navigation system, mainly due to the real-time route adaptation based on traffic conditions. We regularly travel between the Sacramento and SF Bay Area in California, and there are several very different routes, and Google Maps will direct me away from one with a traffic meltdown ("big rig jackknifed; traffic at a halt, estimated reopening in 6 hours"). So a phone mount would still come in handy.

Thanks Charles. I commute in the bay area too so I want the real time traffic routes. Which phone mount do you have? Pro has one they say will work for my car but it doesn't make sense from the pictures so something is wrong there....does the advance have a different dashboard than the regular PIP from 2014?

I haven't had a mount, but I just bought a Tylt Wireless Car Charger so I can just drop my phone into it when I want to use Maps (my phone supports wireless charging). This charger includes a mount that has a special kind of sticky base that you can put on the dashboard, windshield, where-ever, but I haven't experimented yet where I want to put it. The Advanced and Basic PiP have the same dashboard.

I see you have the Advanced model, so Bluetooth is definitely there. Once you do the short setup it will always connect automatically, import all your contacts, dial numbers with your voice and a lot more. I was surprised when a text message came through and the car read it out loud to me.

I also happen to have a 2014 Advanced model (or what they call in Canada, the 'Technology' model). :)

I picked up the Arkon rail mount phone holder, which mounts on the front left passenger seat bolt, and has a rigid arm so you can position it wherever you like. It is just the right length that is sits just above the buttress. Fits my iPhone 7 great (but would also hold the XL size phones).

The beauty of this design is that it leaves no damage or marks to your interiors at all, nor is the phone up on the windshield or using an ugly suction cup. It does shake a bit if you hit big bumps (which was my concern before I ordered it), but it turns out it is not a big deal, just touch it to stop shaking, and you soon don't even notice it at all.

It's about $40 on eBay. I would post a link, but I don't think it's allowed. Just search for Arkon and you will see it. I ended up ordering a 2nd one for my wife's Leaf, at least for when I drive the car. :)

Like others mentioned, I live by the traffic-aware Nav on the phone since I am always in traffic in Toronto (my choice is Waze), and this setup works great.

I can take a picture tomorrow if you like and post it here.

Pro Clip has a great mount. Two options for Prius. I have the one on the center divider. It's fantastic.

I like the X-Grip from RAM Mount. I use the suction mount, and attach it to the front-most little driver's side window. The little window is not used for much else, so a mount there was a great location. The mount locks in place, and then I run the charging cable under the steering column, tied up under the plastic, and loop it over the turn switch on the left hand side, when not plugged into the phone.

Pro Clip is perfect! I got the one mounted on the dashboard center. Love it!

Highly suggest a magnetic cd slot mount. Just search it on amazon, they are cheap. So awesome to just toss your phone up there and not have to use two hands like some mounts. Never met a person that I've showed mine to that doesn't want one for themselves.

I use this one and really like it. I stuck it to the little triangle of glass between the windshield and the A pillar. It's been there a couple months and hasn't fallen off yet. But we haven't entered FL summer yet, either. ;)

Whatever you use, look for a magnetic option. Makes it so easy to put it on the mount.
