Recently got the S7 Edge and I'm on T Mobile which doesn't use data for streaming music but I was wondering how to play music in my car with Spotify on my phone. Connect phone to my car, turn on blutooth, play music on Spotify then it would automatically play in the car?

Yes, that's all you'll need to do.

Well, that's exactly what I did when I got my 2016 6 weeks ago, both Spotify and Pandora, played beautifully and the sound was most pleasing. I say was because about a week ago, when I turn Spotify on in my iPhone, it visually comes up on the screen in the car, and it shows that the music is playing, the timer moves along as it does on the phone, but...
NO SOUND! The phone is/was connected because there's no music coming out of the phone either. The Bluetooth telephone part, calls in and out, worked fine (see below, until tonight - now nothing works and nothing pairs) I also noticed that the name of the connection that appears on the phone in setting, Bluetooth has changed itself, I don't remember what it was exactly, maybe Prius something, but now it says something else car accessory system .
After writing this just now I went to the car to see if I could get the music to make a sound, so I disconnected the phone from the car thinking I would re pair it, now it won't pair. I asked the sexy voice to pair it and she said something like the usb something is either busy or disconnected, I think she said something like that.
so now, phone won't reconnect, no music and I am flummoxed.
I see I used the word "something" a lot. Not very helpful, sigh.

Delete the pairing from your phones BT menu as well otherwise, you're asking the phone to pair something it already paired.

Also, in the car menu pairing list. Your phone if connected will show 3 connections. Voice, Internet and music. I'm assuming music was turned off for some reason. It's on by default so repair should be fine.

This might seem interesting but, make sure you have the "mute" switch on the side of the phone turned off. [IMG]
I've had my music showing it was playing but not through BT until I did this. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I thought that I had removed the phone's pairing by turning off the phone. Nope, just had to hit the little "I" to the right of the pairing, went to forget this appliance, re-paired it and all is well, ;phone and music are playing, and yes I did have the mute button turned off, that much I knew, so...
once again, thank you everyone on Priuschat!

    Artie,
Did you find a solution for this problem? I have a Toyota Highlander and was Googling the problem and came across this post. I'm having the same problem. I asked Toyota about it when I was in for an Oil change and we did exactly what you recommended above. But I am having a hard time getting it to stay connected. I need to repeat every couple of weeks when I notice it's not working anymore.

Sorry to hear that, as I posted this a year ago almost, there's been no problem. If you have to reconnect weekly or thereabouts, perhaps your software in the vehicle needs "flashing" and/or updating, done by the dealer.
Mine has been working fine, with some slight occasional blips, but never lossing connection, just the info on the screen sometimes is there and sometimes not.

There are 6 methods of playing Spotify in your car on your phone, you can take into consideration and pick the one suit your tastes.
#1 Stream Spotify in Your Car via Bluetooth
#2 Link Spotify to the Car through USB or AUX-IN Port
    #3 Spotify on CarPlay
    #4 Spotify on Android Auto
    #5 Stream Spotify on Parrot

With regard to #3 and #4, the Prius doesn't have either facility available without paying $$$ for non-Toyota equipment!
