Where is it located...? I think it is on the passenger side and requires unbolting from bottom and top based on a video I saw a couple weeks ago but cannot find.

Is this correct? Any other tips for job? How long should it take?

    Thanks

I will strongly suggest that this type of repair is done by experienced Mechanic....this requires more than just swapping parts and pouring coolant....

And why is that??? Or please elaborate? My cousin swapped pump on my gen 1 prius --- immediately fixed problem --- took maybe 90 minutes ---- and it was plug and chug....Only thing we didn't do is bleed the system but I asked in the gen 1 forum and everyone said it was unnecessary.

Not usually a problem, but bleeding is simple and takes no real effort.

Any how-to videos? Where is it located? Easier/harder than changing gen 1 pump which my cousin had zero problem swapping.

Then Cousin could help you on this......And yes definitely you need to make sure there is no air pockets once inverter is back to function......
And is located about same as the other you mentioned....just little more staff around than before
Take good care on priming the coolant system and eliminating air in the loop of inverter....

Search by the Generation of your vehicle. I am guessing, leave engine running, leave cap off inverter jar wait for bubbles to stop exiting, if level of inverter fluid is going down, refill to full line as needed. Watch for temperature overheat. An air pocket can cause problems because the inverter fluiid is not flowing properly.. The inverter can overheat w/o coolant circulation.
Normally it is not a problem IF you wait until the jar is showing no more bubbles.

Look for current posts for your year as my 2005 is now pretty antiquated as is also my advice.

If you go to Toyota web site and enter your vin number it will give you part number..if this is still difficult....use Toyota local parts store give them vin number and they will give you exactly what you asking for.....

I never had a problem locating part....I bought it used from a junkyard in California for $80 (on January 20th!). The part is interchangeable with a Lexus RX450 Hybrid which is why it costs so much new.

Was just trying to find a how-to tutorial that gives step-by-step directions to make it easier for my cousin to swap but I think he'll be fine.

But this video replaced the engine coolant pump, not the inverter coolant pump. The inverter coolant was never drained and doesn't need to be bled. Also, most Gen III's don't have an engine coolant bleeder valve.

UPDATE: Put new (used) pump on and still not getting turbulence at idle....and it has code for P261 engine coolant pump 'b' control malfunction..

This link (Coolant pump B control malfunction (P261B) | PriusChat) is saying that the code is for the engine coolant pump....I went ahead and ordered inverter pump because my brother said code was inverter pump + no turbulence.

I confirmed that there was no turbulence in the reservoir on the drivers side back of motor but never rescanned code....so it is possible the code entire time was engine coolant pump which means I spent $150 for nothing ($80 labor + $80 used part)....I'm just going to pretend that both pumps are bad to make me feel less stupid but highly likely it was engine pump entire time...

Well, no. If you have a bad engine coolant pump, replacing the inverter coolant pump isn't going to fix it.

The question is, however, if engine coolant pump bad, would that cause zero turbulence in the reservoir on the drivers side (if hood popped and staring at engine it is the reservoir in the back on the right)...pink reservoir on right has no turbulence

The two cooling systems are completely separate.
