    Welcome!
Are you wanting to exchange your 2016 for a 2017? If so, why? Moving from a 2016 Two to a 2017 Two gains just safety features & redesigned headlights,

And someone posted very recently that the headlights apparently changed sometime in the 2nd half of 2016 models.

According to IIHS, the new ones are on cars built after August 2016.

I know, I got the car in September 16, I can't believe how cheap that metal is. Makes you think if the car is worth the 26k sticker price

It is primarily in the bushings, which I'm sure eventually we will be talking about what are the best after markets to buy, once they wear out.

all prius rust like crazy. it seems to be superficial, and i don't recall anything actually failing. and we're talking over 10 year old cars. i think they start rusting on the transit ships from the salt air.

It's a bit different from the rust of years ago - I remember my 1980 NISSAN, and other cars of the same era would sometimes have rust bubbling from the panels before the 12month warranty expired - mine took a month longer so wasn't covered. By 3 yrs, mine was a fairly major job, in all doors and wagon tailgate, the bonnet wasn't repairable. Sale. I haven't seen panel rust in cars for nearly 20 yrs, except the odd spot rivet. Yours is surface rust on a very thick metal piece, which I'd be surprised ever became structural.

But I'd still talk to TOYOTA about it.

What kind of rain guards do you have? They look great.

In Ebay I believe it was these. They are sold with or without tint I believe.

That's something I've been wondering about since I got my PiP that was rescued from New Hampshire. Places under the hood that I can see, I used some POR-15. But I'm sure there is plenty of rust under the car. Body looks great other than some dings to the Tupperware.

I have flashbacks of living on Roatán where I had to take my truck to the body shop about once a year for major rust rehabilitation costing hundreds of $$ a year. Hopefully, now that the car is out of the salt, the corrosion will slow down. But I can't help wondering sometimes at the long term wisdom of buying a northern car to drive in FL rather than the other way around. Time will tell.

if it's any comfort, my neighbor has my old '04. the rust looks the same as it did when i owned it. but i suppose the eyeball test isn't everything. no problems though.

It only seems to happen in those bushings as far as I can tell I'm sure the exhaust will be next. I put rustolium on the underbody of my jeeps but they we'rent under warranty. I'm sure they would say something in this case

Down in Roatán, they didn't have undercoating like here, so they used truck bed liner. It worked pretty well, but nothing really stood up to that salt air. It got into EVERYTHING. The two biggest segments of my time as a radio station engineer were dealing with rust and trying to keep the place secure from the thieves. I think the rust was the more challenging of the two.
