    Hello,

Today I've noticed that my power windows don't work properly. The drivers side does not have the one touch open/close function anymore. And i can't control the rest of the 3 windows at all from the driver's side switches. The windows work with their own switch, just not from the driver's controls. Since I've had a similar problem before (my rear wiper motor was broken which caused the same problem with windows and the moonroof) i immediately checked the moonroof and it wouldn't open. The rear wiper works fine though. Also noticed that my power locks don't work either when i click the unlock doors buttno from the driver's controls next to the window switches.

When i use the drivers window switch the light on the swotch itself blinks a couple of times and goes dark.

The 12v battery wasn't disconnected and i don't think it lost power (the clock never reset itself).

A week ago i notoced on the dash an alert that my key battery is low but i don't think it could be related in any way.

Sounds like an issue, maybe intermittent, in the communications networks between these controls, especially the driver door switch cluster, and the ECUs.

If it were me, for this I would go straight to the repair manual on techinfo.toyota.com, and look for the step-by-step troubleshooting procedure for these things. It can be intricate enough that your brain gets in knots if you're not sticking to a clear, check-this-before-checking-that procedure. I don't have a Gen 4 and it could be different enough from Gen 3 that I wouldn't be helping you any by trying to give other advice here ... and Gen 4 is probably still new enough that even on PriusChat there won't be many people yet who have that particular part of the manual slurped into their heads.

i would check the fob battery, 12v battery, and fuses.

So it does. My mistake ... I guess I had just been looking at other Gen 4 posts and mixed them up.

So I'm a bit more familiar with that stuff in Gen 3, as I have one; going from memory, I think the driver door switch cluster contains its own little ECU and relays, communicates by multiplex to the Body ECU, and as for the stuff in the other three doors, it's just more traditionally wired back to the Body ECU. I think the sliding roof has its own little ECU.

Still, I haven't personally had problems with these things, and have no direct experience with troubleshooting them. I think Techstream lets you see what switch positions it thinks you're holding, and it has active test options where you can command the motors in different directions. That could help with narrowing down where the problem(s) might be.

None of the window or roof active tests actually work for me, probably because of the particular flavor of clone Mini VCI that I ended up with. I assume that with a better dongle they do work.

Strange problem indeed. While I was driving to the store to get a battery for the key fob the lights on the window controls lit up. So now the windows and the moonroof is working..

Okay.. the problem reappeared a couple of days ago and is still present. The key fob battery has been replaced after the first time this happened so it's only a month old. Any ideas?

test the 12 volt health, and check the connections for tightness and cleanliness at the posts, and where the negative connects to the body.

Ok. So if this problem wasn't weird enough it just got weirder. The power windows started working as expected. Now when the car is running and the hatch is opened the moon roof opens automatically! Should've seen my face... Checked the 12V health, it's fine. Checked all the connectors in the trunk and on the hatch. All as snug as possible. When I press the open button on the hatch the moon roof does not open, but when I start lifting it then it does. Any ideas?

Sounds like the 12v battery was flat or disconnected. After this you need to relearn the windows and roof by opening and closing fully. You need to open fully and hold the switch for 3 seconds, then close fully and hold for 3 seconds.

The windows will work from the door switch but not the drivers door panel. I had this on my Lexus and thought I had major electrical issues until I discovered this.

This is hard for me to picture without assuming some wire harness damage, water intrusion, or that kind of thing.

How do the junction connectors look that are behind the kick panels at the front corners of the front doors? All dry and clean and non-corroded?

Not that those are the only places there could be a problem, but they're down low and seem like a reasonable place to look and get a sense of wiring condition.

Seems plausible since my windshield on the driver's side was leaking! I'll take a look at that.

Aha! Some new information to ponder. Every little bit helps...
Check the fuse box underneath the dash on the left side for any water intrusion...

    Hi all,

Have a 2013 with similar issue including one touch on all windows, passenger window control from the driver seat, door lock button from the drivers seat, and moon roof operation. Car has been in a garage , so water instrusion seems unlikely, but with COVID it gets driven far less than it used to. Makes me wonder about the battery.

Checking in if there was a final resolution to this issue. I will try the power window re learn next.

    Thanks,
    John

Hey guys, I just had the same problem that TomasV refers... In my case I just changed the 12v battery the windows operated normally once (because I checked them) and after that started my root to work... On the way I noticed the same symptoms and when finished my shift on the way home I expiramented abit and all the same... Each door switch controls each window but the driver's switch controls the driver's window only, not the rest. also LEDs blink during operation on each door's switch... Also the moon roof doesn't open or close at all... Furthermore the tech stream can not read data from drivers and passengers doors either moon roof although I remember a DTC b2325 lim bus on main body module I think... I did try to recalibrate the windows but nothing changed in my case... So I wonder too if there are any updates in your cases...

Well... Solved... At least in my case it was abit dirty and slightly corroded probably because of humidity the pins in the plugs under the kickpanel as referred by other guys... Just abit conduct cleaner and a plug unplug and everything came back to its normal... Lock unlock all windows and sliding roof... IMG_20240228_154531.jpg IMG_20240228_154524.jpg
