This is more a case of me being a dummy, but I wanted the main display to show the instant fuel economy. I must have read the instructions in the manual 5 times before I finally caught on: When the correct sub-screen is chosen, the system gives the user a second or two to make changes in the main display and then the <up> and <down> buttons default to a different action.

Tricky, tricky, but I'm a happy camper now.

Mine is having to hit "Info" twice on the Nav screen to get the GPS map, based, mph display.

I spoke a little too soon.
My instant MPG in EV is scaled 0 .. 10 .. 20. I find that less than ideal
And the average trip consumption is in MPG ... in EV mode. How do I choose miles/kWh ?

    I haven't noticed. What happens ?

Not sure I understand this one Bob. <Menu> brings up a display with <Info> which has a selection <Traffic Info> but I don't see mph display. Never have gotten that to work on the big screen, only mpg in the HUD. Is this only when actively following a route?

You're sitting there playing your MPG video game with the RCC (Radar cruise control) on and all of a sudden the RCC window pops up to indicate a car just entered its "Viewing" range. You wait several seconds or push the "return" button and it goes away and you continue to play the hyper mile game when all of a sudden the RCC window pops up again to let you know the vehicle left its "Viewing" range..... WHY does it think I care??? Or perhaps it thinks I am blind? This seems so redundant provided the driver isn't blind... But if the driver IS blind, that brings a whole new set of variables into the equation.... But I digress.....

That one bugs the SHIZZLE out of me too!...

Well to be fair, not everyone is as attentive as you. It's basically letting you know whether the car has radar lock on the vehicle in the front. At least it disappears. On the Gen 3, it doesn't disappear so you have to press DISP to change back to your previous screen.

When I press "Info" located at the lower right, nothing happens. When I press it a second time, I get the current street and the GPS recorded, mph indicator. This is a Prius Prime Plus with the small display.

I have the MFD in "split screen" mode, so it shows MPG in the right half the screen (to the right of the speedometer ). When you are in HV mode, it shows MPG (or km/liter) When in EV mode it shows mi/kwh (or km/kwh). Haven't ever tried to set the one in the main screen using the INFO button

Every time a car pulls into your lane, the reminder of cruise setting pops up (sometimes 3 or 4 times) for 5-6 seconds. And you need to hit return to get rid of it. I ride in the right lane, so it happens very often.

I think this is a useful safety feature. The DRCC is driver assist not autopilot and needs monitoring because in some circumstances it can pick up the wrong info from the radar, for example on bends where the car radar can sometimes point to a vehicle in a different lane, and needs to be over ridden by the driver to prevent the car from doing the wrong thing.

I also find it reassuring to know when it thinks something has happened to change what it sees.

Ok I only have experience from an extended test drive so maybe I will feel differently after driving my new Euro 2017 Plugin, which I will collect tomorrow.

But the DRCC is such a HUGE improvement on the non adaptive Cruise I have on my Gen2, that I don't see myself complaining much about it at all!!

In the Prius PHV (European version) you can disable the DRCC pop-up display. It's in the settings TAB of the MFD.
We also have kW/100km but the scale goes up to 10. The result is that the display always shows full scale or '0'. The scale should have a max of 30 or something like that.

I read the manual, but found a strange sequence to driving with the DRCC. Following a van at set speed of 70 mph over many miles in the right lane, with the DRCC set to 2 bars, which equates to 120 feet, I believe, when he passed slower traffic, and I followed him in the fast lane, if I didn't quickly get in behind him fast enough back in the right lane, (sometimes too close to the passed vehicle), the DRCC would continue to accelerate Prime because it lost sight of any vehicle directly in front of me. Anyone else experience this??

Not strange at all. Your 70 mph DRCC setting is faster than the truck is traveling, and it becomes apparent when the truck is no longer in front of you.

The van referenced was travelling at a constant 70mph, as was I. If I did not get back in right behind him after passing (at a safe distance) the DRCC accelerated continuously and I had to disengage the DRCC. This happened over about 100 miles on I 95 and passing several vehicles. Seems like a problem to me. The DRCC should give a driver sufficient space/time to reenter the right lane after passing slower vehicles.

Yeah maybe just shut it off during overtaking lane changes.

Err.. Is your DRCC set at 70mph? because it shouldn't if the van was travelling at the same set speed as you when he passed.

If you were catching up to him, obviously he wasn't doing 70mph when he was passing or after he changed back to the original lane, or you weren't travelling at 70mph (your DRCC speed is set higher)
