I am buying a set of stock wheels to see how much mileage improves as an experiment, since I bought my car with the upgraded wheels and tires. I am currently around 40. Anyway, I need trim rings. I checked ebay and found "1", and it was scratched. I know from searches here that there are a bunch of trim rings hanging in garages, or being used in the garden in some form. Hook a brother up! :D

Trade you my trim rings for those nasty chrome wheels you don't want anymore. :D

    My brother,

I took mine off a while back and would happily sell them, but at least one of 'em is a bit scratched up. And it didn't really protect the wheel rim anyway, as that's a little scratched too.

I can tell you that taking them off has made no difference in MsPG, so you might not want to bother. I think the wheels look much better without them, and wish I would have yanked 'em 18,000 miles ago, as it was tough to clean under there!

I'm supposed to get a 2006 very soon, and will pull the rings off first day so they'll be perfect. If you're still looking in a month or so, I'll be posting 'em.

Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee...... I loves my chromes! :D I just want to play the stock game for a while. Unless the stock wheels take me to the 60MPG mark that I see others here getting, they will probably sit in a corner. I don't have a baseline of what I should be getting for MPG since it came with these nasty wheels. I am around 40 now. This tank is averaging 38  I just gotta see for my self.

Cool, I'll be lookin'. The jury is still out about the rings. I am 50/50 at this point, still like to have some for the hell out it.

    Mike,

How about we trade wheels for a while. I'd like to compare the improvement in handling over stock. I'm located downtown Orlando.

:( How about I rent them for a week (maybe with option to buy). Have you weighed them yet?

I weighed them and they are 43.5lbs. a piece. I really thought they would be heavier. I'm sure I'll get better mileage as time goes by, and they will be back on. I looks too good to keep them in a corner. I have seen brand new Scion TC wheels on Ebay for a little over 600. Had I done my research, I would have bought my car with the stock tires and wheels, then bought an aftermarket set later. Oh Well.
