Can you hear fliud flowing?

Can you hear fliud flowing when the gas engine kicks in? I have had this happen after the car has been idle awhile. It sounds like a faucet flowing softly and continues for a couple of minutes and goes away... as if it equalizes in pressure or something.

I have only had the vehicle for 3K miles and it has been in the shop to have the Coolant Valve (error code P1121) replaced. Although I cannot be sure I think the sound has been there since this Valve has been replaced. Then again the valve had issues at 150 miles and was replaced at 800 miles. Not sure if there is any connection.

I have read other vehicles having the drain holes underneath the windshield wiper assembly being clogged might be a cause but this is not the case in my vehicle because it only appears when the engine kicks on and i checked the drain holes are clog free.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

The prius drain holes, regardless, evidently *do* have a propensity
to clog up. I posted about this last week.

As to coolant flowing ... too much air in the system could cause
that; I'm pretty sure I heard bubbling in my old Subaru. Didn't
worry about it too much since it was clear that fluid *was* flowing
    and carrying heat anyways..

Are you sure you are not hearing the "buzzing" sound that happens when braking? It could sound something like you describe, but does not last for minutes, just seconds

I'm positive. This is happening when I accelerate and the engine kicks in. Dealer told me to bring it in at my 5K oil change.... they didn't think it was a big deal. In fact they thought it was normal. Since I have not had a chance to compare this with any other vehicle its hard to know what is normal.

is this the same sound you hear when the car shuts off and the coolant is being pumped into the canister? it may sound a little different from the inside of the car. otherwise, hmmm.

Not really. It just sounds like fluid flowing for a couple of minutes and then it stops... as if it has pressureized or something.

What is really weird is that the sound just stop in the last few days. One major difference and may be unrelated is that the temperature outside is much warmer now.
