Read this on the other forum that leaving USB devices plugged in prius will shut down sks function or remote, and others said to check antennas or sensors. I did had my passport radar plugged into cig charger under dashboard and duel USB charger under arm rest, I remembered the day before fob stopped working my daughter called me said my passenger headlight was flickering and doors wouldn't open, I opened door with metal key and it wouldn't start with sks mode nor fob in ignition so I jump started it from under then hood and it locked using the remote.
-could it be from having usb charging ports or passport radar plugged in.
-sensors or antenna? Both don't know where located.
-tried messing with button under steering wheel still nothing.
-Is there a sensor or antenna on car that could of got unhooked or unplugged?

After reading on some threads on here on PriusChat that used remote can't be programed unless thru Toyota Dealer or Locksmith. Following the add or program new remote/chicken dance didn't work for me, I had the 2 lock/unlock clicks I thought it was responding to remote I got off ebay but its actually rejecting it or didn't program it. My original remote lights up but totally unresponsive to SKS or doors, the remote is falling apart but only works when insert into ignition and starts the car.
-would buttons on door handles still work for locking the car if remote doesn't work? None of mines work to lock the car if I press them.
-considering buying new remote, called dealer and was quoted 160 for new remote and they will cut the key and $160 to register it. Kind of pricey.

    *Update*
-issue fixed remote had some light corrosion wiped it off with dry q-tip.

Ordered new shell case for remote sense mine was busted and was missing rubber buttons, took my original remote to swap to new shell and saw some light corrosion, wiped it off with dry q-tip and put the remote together it worked and has no issues.
