Hack: Drill hole in center armrest to route cables

The placement of the Gen 2 Prius cigarette lighter plug in the center armrest presents a dilemma: my iPhone charging cable and bluetooth audio adapter uncomfortably hang out of the armrest. If I lean on the armrest, it places pressure on the cables and the armrest is not fully locked and therefore unstable. Anyone have any recommendations for removing a part or drilling a hole to route cables towards the dash? My iPhone charging cable runs along the dash to my Scosche MagicMount which holds my iPhone in landscape mode as a GPS. I also have an iClever Himbox controller near my glovebox. Thanks!

How large is the cable? I run power and audio cables out via the front corner of the cover (out to the side on the passenger side) and the cover latches easily without pinching the cables at all.

If you still need to drill a hole it's much easier if you remove the console from the car first. The console contains the key sensor that lets you start the car without inserting the fob into the dash so you'd need to plug it back in if you need to go somewhere mid-project. There's another sensor there also. It might be the has sensor for the stability control but it's been so long since I had my console out that I don't remember.

Same thing here. Our charger and audio jack cables all fit there with no issues.
