Emblems - How are you cleaning the space between them

Figure this is a worthy post for the OCD that want even their emblems on the car dust/ dirt free. Entire cars clean washed, quick detailed and then there's the crevices between the letters of the emblems o_O
What do you use to clean the spaces between the letters?

A wash gets some of it out but when the water settles its right back to the way it was, maybe a little better but the dust still settles there.
Using the corners of the microfiber towels again gets some but not well enough for it to be clean. .

Looking to see if anyone has some clever way of cleaning them? (besides debadging the car)

You can see after the P - the RIUS is where most of the build up is.

I have not washed my Prius 3 since I bought it last Feb (2016). You guys are treating the Prius as if it's a Ferrari. Lol

An old toothbrush works. I save them for all sorts of automotive app's.

Q Tips or soft toothbrush. If you're really OCD, toothpicks will get in there either bare or around a soft cloth.

Or just change cars every few years.

You might find the stainless steel binding scratches the paintwork occasionally. Don't think I'd risk it with these, sorry!

My advice is to get a heat gun and some fishing wire and get rid of the emblems altogether for a cleaner fresher look. Given the design of the gen 4 I don't think anyone would mistake it for another car. I plan on doing this myself soon.

That's one of my pet peeves. A chap up the road bought a GOLF GTI and de-badged it, put on a raspy (awful) sounding muffler (sounded like a foul smelling bodily sound we don't talk about in public). I assumed it was a DIESEL but was set straight!!! I have no idea why he took the GTI badges off. It seems a common thing here with people who buy "sporty" cars - but it means most people have no idea what they are.

Special foam tip sticks ie "q" tips are available at most local professional jobbers.
Maybe even Auto Geek on line.

Or visit a bikini car wash and have the girls clean those tight places for you...haha.

FWIW Do not use a tooth brush.
If your car was black in color you'd see the damage a tooth brush will cause.
With silver or white colors the damage may not show as easy.

I see why the raspy sounding muffler install can be a pet peeve but why would debadging a car be a pet peeve of yours? Maybe your experience with these type of car owners has colored your experience but you gotta admit the Prius just has way too many hybrid badges (a little tacky) to be honest.

According to Toyota, the Prius is not a car. It is a Hybrid. Check the menu on their website. No Prius is listed when you select Cars.

Probably because, since I was 3 or 5yrs old (10 years before we got a car), I started looking out at every car which went past, and could identify them, often by sound.

The ones who de-badge mostly here are Japanese sporty cars - Supras etc which I don't really care about, but some recently imported '50s, & '60s American cars are debadged too. I'd like to know if it's a Pontiac or Buick, Ford or Studebaker - as they were the cars I read about in Popular Mechanics and Popular Science when I was a kid - but we never saw - and now they're hiding what they are.

And with the GTI up the road - I fail to understand why he wants it to be confused with a humble Diesel, and not a $20k dearer GTI.

I see. But given the gen 4's unique styling I doubt anyone would mistake it for anything other than a Prius. And I understand your point about classic cars. Boy would it be a day the gen 4 prius is considered a classic car.

I'm not planning on living that long. Though, the early Gen 1s are 20 yrs old now. The car I learned to drive in is 50yrs old this year, and my first car (1956) is 60 yrs next year. Makes me feel old.

There weren't very many US cars here back then, a few Pontiacs, Dodges, though GM assembled Chev Belairs here - as luxury, prestige cars, and our neighbour had one - about 1961. It was odd, in that it had a Pontiac dashboard and IMPALA taillights - to meet Australian design rules. Looked like upload_2017-4-16_15-54-2.png

but was PINK - this pink, I understand an Australia only paint job (this is on our home-grown Holden):
    upload_2017-4-16_15-55-5.png

That family had another identical PINK car for his wife - a Vauxhall Velox - I guess assembled on the same line.
