The touch screen on my MFD display has been dead for awhile. The last time I got a new phone, I was able to get into the diagnostic menu and calibrate the touch function, which allowed me to pair the new phone over bluetooth. Now, I can't even get the touch function to work at all to get into the diagnostic menu. (I can get to the first level diagnostic menu by pressing the display button and turning the headlights on and off 3 times, but I can't get beyond that with the screen not recognizing touch).

    So, two questions:

    1. Is there any way to pair a bluetooth device without using the MFD screen?

    2. Is there any way to get into the touch calibration menu without having to touch the screen?

    Thanks.

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I've lerned to live without the touch screen on my 2007 Prius, but can't sync my phone with the car for hands free. If I had the "code" needed to complete the sync I would be in business again...

I think the MFD is a common problem on the 2004-2009 Prius. Are you listening Toyota? I see this problem all over the net. Mine started going out in 2016, it started out being intermittent, but now it is 100% out of calibration. Frustrating. I can't pair my Bluetooth, can't use navigation, can't control the climate very well. Thank you though Toyota for putting some control buttons on the steering wheel, I've learned to use those well. When I bought my 2008 Prius and I saw this touchscreen it was cool at first, but it's sort of a pain to have some controls be knobs and some of controls be touchscreen. I would prefer all knobs. Or as many as possible and still allow navigation to be touchscreen. So I finally bought a used MFD from a parts recycler, and will install it this weekend. Wish me luck.
